No Man's Sky is the pinnacle of how a dumpster fire of a game can rise back up and become one of the best titles in it's genre. While things can still be a little rough around the edges in some places, this is the game Star Citizen aspires to be. Now with cross-play across all platforms, there is no reason not to play this game.

Check out the galactic civilizations created by players! Or go at it alone, charting out the universe and playing zoologist. Surprisingly nice building/electricity system (again, once you get past some of the obtuse bits of it) and just a lot to sink your teeth into. It's a steal at a sale price. Get this game.

Game has a lot of issues in light of the F2P launch. Complaints about the queue time are to be expected, since everybody and their mother wants to login and try out the game. I don't personally think that alone warrants a negative review. Should the servers and queue times be improved? Absolutely. Doesn't mean the game is bad in itself though.

Secondly, this game was built on the foundation of group play. If you go into this game expecting to solo your way to top tier, what are you doing playing a massively multiplayer game? There is some solo content here and there, but this game is literally built on group territory control and player-driven economy. It's like buying a car and then rating it negatively when it can't fly like a plane.

The game still has a lot of quirky issues. Being a sandbox game, it kind of throws you into the world without any guidance whatsoever after the tutorial. Be prepared to Google questions a lot, or join the official Discord. Find yourself a guild to roll with. Ask questions. Be sociable. You know, like an MMO is supposed to be.

There's something about this game that strikes me as really magical.

Meadow is one of those games I boot up when my anxiety is getting to me and I just wanna sit down and unwind to a nice soundtrack and beautiful scenery. Finding others and forming little packs of mismatched animals is always really fun, but it's always a little heartbreaking whenever somebody has to go and they're seen off with a chorus of sad waving emotes. Who knew a game without words could be so powerful.

Definitely suggest picking up this game if you want something relaxing and sentimental to play every once and awhile!

600hrs later into this Hell of a game, I think it's time I write my thoughts on this game.

It's definitely not the easiest thing to get into. From the fact that this game has a notorious tendency to not explain the mechanics of anything beyond the absolute basics and the fact it also throws you into the wide open world after the first quest line with no sense of direction... Yeah, it's a beast you gotta learn to tackle.

But once you get past that initial barrier, you find yourself chest-deep into a game that just keeps hooking you in. New weapons to try, new warframes to add to your arsenal. This game encourages you to try everything, which is an interesting concept in massively-multiplayer games like this.

Definitely find yourself a SMALL clan to roll with. Personally what's kept me with this game so fervently is the social aspect I've gotten out of it. Even if a burn-out is inevitable with a game like this (it's essentially a diablo-esque gear grind, honestly) you'll find that your time with this game was exciting and worth the thrill of it.

And hey, don't forget the best part about this game: The true endgame, Fashionframe. ;)

The Day-After Beta Launch

As of 7/7/16, I can only reccomend this game if you don't mind the standard MMO formula of go here, kill that, collect this and escort him. As expected with a beta release, be prepared to put up with some technical issues (I've had a few random disconnects, NPCs in the background appearing in the default model "T" pose during cutscenes-- this one was more funny then anything else, honestly).

I have a low end PC, and even with the supposed bad optimization, it still runs okay on the lowest settings. It's not eye candy anymore by any means, but it's playable. I would say give this one a shot, ESPECIALLY if you can bring along a few friends for the ride (ha, see what I did there?). Try it out, tame some badass looking monsters, and see how it sticks with you.
