Early Access Review
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GAME. DEVS SEE PLAYERS AS MONEY POTS. i've been following, playing and a fan of this game for nearly a decade. I've been eagerly awaiting improvements through atleast two versions of the game (OG the Isle, Evirma). The game is absolutely drowning in bugs and hackers are free to do what they want. After all these Dev Diary's show that nothing is being done. I'll never buy from this publisher or anyone apart of this game studio again. You show people drawings and MAYBE a few simple meshes nearly every dev update while the game itself is a disgrace for what its advertised as. AFTER NEARLY A DECADE the game has only gotten worse from its original. Dondi stole people money and doesn't have the balls to apologize for it and stop dragging them along. The Devs just took advantage of peoples love for dinosaurs to rip them off with unfulfilled promises and content that may or may not be there from one update to the next. I hope no one ever wastes their money and time thinking about this game.

The games was initially a fun PvP freebie with cool dragons and flying mechanics, but as time goes on the dev's actively have made it worse, which is impressive. They have no leveled matchmaking so you stomp new players, and when the game used to let you see player levels to go easy on the level 5 players that are missing two team members (who have inevitably disconnected because cheating and connections issues run RAMPANT in this game)...the devs solution to the complaints was to hide player levels so all newbies got stomped with little mercy. ok. then there's a bug that makes it so you can't collect exp from the matches you play, leaving the game useless since all your rewards (besides an average of 100-200 silver if you win a match) are earned through leveling. dev solution? to run an extra exp event without fixing the bug. What a slap in the face. And finally, the newest ♥♥♥♥-up to come out of the newest 'update', you can no longer choose to leave out game modes. Of Carnage, Spoils of War, Gates of Fire you now only click a button and randomly go into one of those modes, where as before you could 'uncheck' modes you were tired of. This game is frustrating, its full of bugs, cheaters and connection issues. Forcing new and old players to play game modes they don't want while possibly not getting and exp rewards at the same time is...bad.

Also, if you do every daily mission at the end of the week you get a chest with 50 gems. A epic dragon, not even the most expensive, is 1500-1800 (iirc) gems when they aren't on sale, which is often. SEVEN DAYS of playing for FIFTY GEMS.

This game is a dragon cash grab with 50$ skins that are just low effort retextures. Their plans for the game are to add another class, ranked matches, and its all absolutely useless when they're actively ignoring the players and making the game more unenjoyable by rolling back features and not implementing strong solutions to problems.

EDIT TO ADD: now they they've added ranked, open for only one hour a day, I was pretty excited to try again. I SAT IN MATCHMAKING THE WHOLE TIME. I even timed out and didnt alert me. Ranked matches just closed without me getting in ONE. What a JOKE.

EDIT 2: FINALLY after four tries I got into a ranked game, lost the first one, thats fine! The second one, i'm doing the best on the team...and it disconnects me. HOW CAN I ENJOY THIS GAME, DEVS?

It is apparently too much to ask for a writing software that does not crash in the middle of my work. It does not autosave. DO NOT BUY THIS, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR WRITING.

Hidden gem with a lot of fun moments hidden away. The game doesn't hand you all its lore, though--read descriptions and check the notice board like a madman or you'll miss whole side quest lines until your next playthrough.

I love this game. The history is fun, the scenarios are memorable, the UI is easier than CK2. And I didn't have to buy 150$ of DLC to have a nice time! Always...a plus?

If you've ever wanted to sh1t your pants in the dead of night because of a tiny bird, this is the game for you.

The Forest is exactly what you'd expect it to be, and a little more. Not only are you running from hordes of monstrous cannibals, but you also get to build a gazebo while you're at it. The Forest has a pretty regularly updating list of craftable items, and with 32.0 hours on record I'm still finding new in game gear and craftable options I didn't think the game would have. Not only does it have weapons and craftable survival things, but your homes, defenses, luxuries, and even traps are a good and relatively easy to handle addition.
The CO-OP option is great for my friend and I to play, the exploration of caves and Big Meaner Monsters keeps me on my toes.

RECOMMENDED IF:
-You have patience; there's going to be IN GAME days or weeks where you might do nothing but collect wood. Also, it is Early Access and there are some bugs.
-You like survival games with a story you have to search for, instead of one given on a silver platter.
-You're new to the horror scene! Get it with a friend and CO-OPing makes everything a little less frightening.

CONS:
-Some glitches. The VERY WORST glitch I ever experienced was on Co-Op, and it was where it wouldn't let me interact with anything requiring me to hold down a button (eating berries, drinking, lighting a fire). It was survivable through eating from my inventory and the glitch WENT AWAY AFTER TIME AND SAVING.
-It seems like after a few hours in game, you know what to expect. (Not true for me, because the...AI(?)/Whatever controls the creature actions, DOES get more aggressive the more you invade their land, and with simple exploring the in places like caves this game had a ton more 'woah!' moments and new gear)

All in all, I'm very happy with this game! I feel like with time even more things will be added, and that the makers of this give you what they promise despite it still being in Alpha.
