This is my first time playing this kind of visual novel. Most I have played were ones like Danganronpa or Death Mark.
This one was cheap so I figured why not.
I haven't completed it yet, but I have some issues.
1. The main character sucks. He feels like he's just a vessel for the story to move along. He's clueless, ignorant, and altogether annoying.
2. My major issue with this game is it feels like there are art assets missing. Whether you patch it or not, it doesn't matter, there are multiple times where you should be interacting with a character, and instead you are interacting with the background. I get the overall point of this type of game, but if you are going to give me a story, at least give me finished art for all the characters I'm talking to. I'd rather see Lovelia's boss than looking down a boring sidewalk while I'm talking to her. It feels really lazy.
The art is nice, and the music is average. Sound effects are... not accurate, let's say. I can accept that though.
If you are going to get this, then wait for a sale (I think I paid 3 or 4 USD). I wouldn't buy it at full price at all.

I'm really enjoying this foray back to Igarashi's amazing visions of Castlevania-styled gameplay. While I'm not finished, it's amazing, with great enemies, an amazing soundtrack, and a world that gives me everything I would want.

There are little bugs here and there, such as not being able to occassionally grab a drop from an enemy when it's too close to a wall, or the map being enabled every time I load my game (this one annoys me), but they aren't anything that's causing me to stop having fun.

If you liked Symphony of the Night, or any of the DS descendents, you will love this game.

Early Access Review
I've put in over 30 hours into this game, and I really feel like I'm just getting started. Recent patches have definitely improved stability, gameplay, and made it more fun to play.

There are unlock systems, but everything is cosmetic, so no pay to win. The only thing you may want to pay for are additional characters (as they each have different speeds, ltoughness, perks, etc.)

Quake Champions is fast. Faster than any other modern Multiplayer FPS out there. You need to learn to be able to jump and have situational awareness all the time. Strafe jumping and rocket jumping are needed skills to excel.
You are going to get destroyed at first if you haven't played older style FPS games. That's okay. It will get better, just be patient.

I'd like to see more characters from Quake 3, especially ones like Crash, Orbb, etc. A bettter tutorial section would definitely benefit, teaching the basics of rocket jumping and general movement. Capture the Flag would be a good mode to have as well.

I would highly recommend picking this up if you want a fast, intense, multiplayer FPS that will take some time to learn. I feel like there's a huge level of satisfaction and payoff the better you get.
