Amazing mod! Could have easily been HL2 Episode 3

Perfect when you have some spare time and you want a quick and easy dose of old school arcade FPS with a cool modern twist.

I remember the first time I booted this game up. The insane graphics and gruesome teakedowns won me over. Trying this game again now has reveiled however that this is the only thing this game has.
Poor story, meh protagonist, horrible optimization (insane frame dives of up to 30 fps when looking at the same thing) and poor combat that relies heavily on repeating the same buttons just to get to basically the same finisher QTEs, where you again just repeat the same buttons. This is unfortunately not even a rough gem type of game. Even IGN coudn't bother with givin it a 7.

So much fun!! Especially when you play the Rattlesnake course with rogue buses flying in you direction and ppl werecking left and right and you come out unscathed.

Easy recommendation.

Finally I've finished this game. All I can say is that it's a solid 65 out of 100. Starts off very good but tapers into frustration and pure, sweet, undiluted rage. If you like a lot of dialogue, alas, you are stronger than me... Many more elements make this game a chore after the 20th hour, but 20 hours of (almost) consecutive fun deserve your money.

The cheap backtracking was the final straw. I like trying out strange indie games, but not when they have no respect for the gamer. Small things like scattering keys and locked doors is something I can take, but having to go way way back to disable the power instead of just cutting the wire (or unplugging the near power plug) is too much. Another point - I hate it when I don't know where to go in linear games, it kinda makes me sick for some reason. This game abuses this to perhaps creep out the player?
If you want similar vibes with a good ending and more polish, play Infra.

I love this franchise and have bought everything and finished everything but the second campaign and the third one that isn't yet on STEAM. The latest trilogy takes all the good thing from absolution and brings them to the tried and true old-school origins. If you like stealth action-games and want a taste of one of the best names in the genre and gaming in general, buy this. But better yet, play 'Contracts', then 'Blood money' and then play this (or maybe try starting with the original 1 and 2 if you are crazy). ME <3 IOI ^^
