the fact people compare this, a game where you cannot create a character which means if you call this a "roleplaying game" you can only roleplay as a grunting old man rather than make someone like you or whatever and be something and not one character. stupid asf

just rerelease gears 1-3 on steam please god this and 4 are AWFUL. this has a very weak, boring campaign with characters that are nothing but stereotypes and very flat version of them. they feel forced, and just boring. the mp is as toxic and impossible to get into if youre not a vet or willing to taking c0ck for at least 60+ hours to get decent. i bought this game for like $5 and for that amount its worth it just because of the horde mode. the game also is practically dead in terms of support as the dev team completely fell apart. much like the halo devs, they did ok with 4, and then completely fell off their rocker with 5. and then their side tactics games were ok but still leagues better than what the 5th mainline game is. so yeah, buy if dirt cheap and u love the pve. but skip if u want balanced mp, content updates, and a campaign that isnt retar*ed

ive bought and refunded this game THREE TIMES. and everytime its been a buggy, stuttery mess. even at $9 its not worth it imo. the game feels dead and the only people who seem to play are battlefield sweats. my high end rig gets random micro stutters which makes the gunplay very difficult. its just not worth it

also, if you have an nvidia card and have the new nvidia beta app you either need to downgrade or turn the overlay off entirely. if you dont the game will jump from 20 to whatever framerate ur capable of hitting constantly. like, every other second it basically freezes when jumping up and down.

So far this game runs like actual dog water. It's optimized so poorly that I was actually getting less frames with dlss so I turned it off and I'm using TSA+fxaa which also fixes the blurry image quality. In the open outdoor I'm at a locked 60 on high settings, but town is inconsistent which I don't mind tbh. As long as the gameplay is smooth I don't mind playing while waiting for patches to fix this. And the micro transactions are just stupid considering most of these items are obtainable and in a good amount. so why even have a paid option? And with the character creation and it being on a server.. knowing Capcom I don't see them changing this. But knowing modders.. well if there's a will there's a way. My thoughts is if modders were to "fix" this it would to make a fix like the seamless coop mod did with elden ring by creating a separate file type. But idk, I'm not a modder.

Good game, good graphics, horrific performance and monetization

how does this game STILL run like GARBAGE???? i originally played this day one on gamepass and again recently just to test performance after the fsr3 patch. my pc isnt a nasa computer or anything. an RTX 3070ti with an R5 5600x and 32gb of ram. i have it on high settings and if dlss is on it hangs in the 50s in New Atlantis. when i drop the dlss all the way down from quality to ultra performance the framerate literally does not change. the only way to make the game feel smooth is to turn on FSR3 frame gen but doing that makes it feel like im streaming the game with how insane the input latency is. and its still insane with vsync turned off, and nvidia's latency boost mode on. after recently getting back into skyrim and skyrim modding, coming back to this is just depressing. my skyrim running better in cities and looking better thanks to mods than this game is ridiculous. not to mention i find this game hard to play without mods. and weird enough its not mods to change how the game looks or plays.. its the MENUS. this game has the WORST ui in ANY bethesda game EVER imo. you wont know what the f*ck a "grendel" is unless you open up the chest or inventory screen of the dead body youre looting which completely defeats the purpose of the quick loot feature. and its not like this is their first time using that feature and they just goofed this time. they used it in both fallout 4 and fallout 76. and really it comes down to the naming system. in fallout 4 and 76 it was "pipe pistol" so you know its a pistol. and legionaries had a star and better weapons just had overall better ways of indicating u that u should pick it up or open the inventory to see more details to see if its worth grabbing or not. in starfield it keeps it as basic as possible. my memory might be hazy, but from launch it was just "grendel" and "grendel modified" or something like that so THANKS BETHESDA. and then the menu overall is wack. its like skyrims ui when u press tab and then u go to one of the sections for a separate menu which could have been fine. except it isnt when all the menus scales are way off, just too big. instead of electing to display more its like they turned on the accessibility feature for the elderly on iphones. it gives every weapon. armor. material, random a*s box that does nothing its own BIG A*S box for whatever reason.
ontop of that the planets are ai generated garbage and are not worth exploring. this games open world is so bad it makes ubisoft open worlds feel like they belong and should be as big as they are. the content in the open world is actually laughable how it can make a game like Assassin's Creed Odyssey side quests feel like Uncharted 4 level story telling compared to the slop in this game. caves in starfield are practically drag and drop UE4 presets from the UE4 asset shop. so if you ever felt like skyrim caves felt the same, looked the same, and were boring then boy do i have something that will waste your time so hard you'll be running back to skyrim and shoe shining its boots with your f*cking tongue. a lot of the caves dont have any enemies, no wildlife, or scavengers, or a boss monster. nothing, nada, diddlyf*ckingsquat. you go in there, get some raw materials, and thats it. you leave the cave, walk through the empty, boring a*s world to the next empty, waste of tech, code, space, and of your personal time good for nothing ai generated UE4 asset flip cave where you will find nothing but rocks.
and no, i didnt finish the MSQ. the whole point of a f*cking bethsda game is the adventure and uphill climb to the end of the story YOU craft. you finish the sometimes linear intro and then go and do whatever you wanna do in usually whatever order you want to do it in. and in games like skyrim and fallout 4 those things, those experiences, items to build your character, all of that stuff is dropped on you during your adventure. if you want adventure in starfield you are REQUIRED to find and talk to the right npc for an actual, worth your time quest and not just the "go find our scientist friend in the middle of bumf*ck nowhere" and all you do is walk in one direction, jump, boost, and watch ur o2 meter.
meanwhile in skyrim or fallout 4 u can be walking in the middle of nowhere, find a wounded man next to a cave, heal him with a potion of healing magic, and then go into the cave with him to save try and save/avenge his friends. thats a REAL thing you can find in skyrim. you wont find that exploring a planet in starfield. or at least i havent. and considering what i just described is a small quest you have to walk upon, if it is in starfield then the likelyhood of you walking upon it unless theres a main quest that makes u run past it its less than 1% youll actually find it considering the slop of planets to explore.

this game is a waste of time and money. when mod tools come out i dont even think itll still be worth it. if you want a decent shooter with mods, fallout 4. if you want a fun fantasy game with mods to turn it into whatever u want then get skyrim. made by the same devs. just when they had brains, knew what fun meant in games, and also knew how to achieve more than 60fps without rendering the game at 720p at low settings.

f*ck you Bethesda.

my personaly fav final fantasy. i didnt and still dont really understand the ending. but WOW. i really wished this game didnt end after i finished it. the world is very pretty, the characters really are lovable, gameplay can be fun and something makes u feel pretty damn cool when u pull moves off, a lot of side quests that do feel sort of tedious but usually theres dialogue the characters say only if u do the side quest so if u love them theyre worth it imo.

the one HUGE con imo is this is a pretty bad pc port. it kinda just eats away at ur hardware with not much to show for it. i first played this on a 3050ti r7 5800h laptop and the temps were unbelievably high and the frame rate was very inconsistent. the fps is better on my 3070ti rig, but still, it will push those temps up but needlessly pushing ur cpu up the wall. other than that this game is awesome. and theres workshop support!
