i know ive barely made a chip into what this game has to offer in terms of story, side content, and interaction with its so far very wonderful cast of characters. right into my gripes though i will say this game does not run as well as you'd think a game that looks like a very upscaled modern fire emblem game. that aside though ive played on a beefy 4060 laptop and my steam deck for a few hours on both and both are very VERY good experiences. i HIGHLY recommend you go to nexus mods and get the metaphorfix mod if you have black bars and want a few extra frames of performance on the deck. it also helped my laptop since its one of those weird 1600p ones lol.
without spoiling anything it starts off as simple as an action drama anime would. i wouldnt compare the beginning of this game too much to a persona but if i were to do so the beginning dungeon or whatever is very persona 5 reminiscent. that aside a lot of it first had me like "oh just like persona" and then it would throw a whole bunch of curve balls and gameplay mechanics that really slowly killed off those persona vibes the more ive played. i can see myself chipping through this one slowly on deck.
also atlus does seem to be *trying* to help with this rough pc port. BUT compared to some of the other ports weve gotten this year this one is one of the better ones. it being able to run on deck is good enough for me to consider it not a horrific port like dragons dogma 2 or the last of us part 1.

TLDR; feels like persona at first but quickly deviates from that feeling. aesthetic is awesome, performance is okay, story is gripping and engaging (at least from the start to where i am.) you can get it on greenmangaming and fanatical for $60.89 which is where i picked my copy up :) happy gaming gamers!

tldr; mid, and prob not worth ur time. too easy, quests boring.

i played a decent amount on my series x on gamepass when it dropped. maybe like 15-20 hours so when i bought it on steam for $30 on sale i thankfully was able to just hop in. now for me personally, this game feels like a f2p game that you have to pay to try/play. it only feels like that with games like Path of Exil (poe) surpassing it in almost every way and that game is free. the game is a fetch quest, go to this place and clear this dungeon to kill this boss and or grab this item and then report back to the quest giver. or its a "protect this thing in this place" like a survival thing. the quests really have nothing to them. i played on the normal difficulty, i think the recommended one and the game up to the level i got at least which was around level 30 or so was extremely easy. i played a necromancer and not once did i ever get close to dying. at most i used two potions during an "intense" fight. 95% of the time i'd get hit once or twice and then would use a potion because another dropped right next to me so why not. maybe its harder on the higher difficulties, but idk. ontop of that the game runs on a seasonal system. only reason i have a problem with this is i dont like feeling pressure to play a game. feeling like i need to get on to climb the ranks makes it all feel more like a job. you can play without it, but youre missing out on some stuff that will help you in the end game if you play through the season. the only reason to not play seasonal is if u dont want to feel that pressure to keep playing really. for $30 eh. ig its fine? but after playing on my deck for like 20 min i asked myself "why am i even playing this, why did i buy it? i KNOW its boring.." so i refunded it. if u like braindead easy games with apparently nothing to do at the end game then sure. $30 is fine. but i think its mid lol.

i can already tell this is gonna be another ff15 moment. looks good, runs like crap. lowering graphics has little to no diff, but cranking up dlss kinda does. not worth it. also i dont like dmc and tried this demo on ps5 and hated it. went from hyped to a hater in moments lol. this isnt final fantasy, so its a hard pass. just wanted to know if it ran good :P doesnt even do that

rip. game sucks. h2m is still alive, but you need to dig a little to find it. pirate this garbage and play h2m that way.

this game is a "where the f*ck do i go" kind of game. that being said, if you want to feel what the foundation of the souls genre is like then this game is a very good place to start especially if you like the anime art style. it has a very basic leveling system, if you die you lose all you haze (souls) and have to get them back yada yada same old same old. if you're good at all at any fromsoft souls game then you will breeze through the majority of this game with ease. however, there are some encounters that throw many enemies at you at once which are what have given me the most trouble. mostly due to getting stun locked is very easy when going against 3+ enemies.
the story is kinda eh, its interesting at some points and some others it feels like you lack context for whats being talked about. the very basics of the story are easy to understand, but just dont be surprised when they say some stuff that you simply dont understand lol.
the game also has mods if u want diff outfits or just wanna add some lewd to the game. theres also a 4k texture pack mod if that tickles ur fancy.
the game can tank in fps when entering some new areas, but no often. 90% of the time im at a locked 144fps max settings 1440p

i was excited for this game, the alpha tests were cool. if i knew what we were getting in the alpha in terms of gameplay/content then i wouldnt have kept my eye on this game. this game is pumped so full of microtransactions its not even funny. its essentially a digital store with a game shoehorned in, or at least it feels like that.
