A battle in Airships is kind of like this:
>they will never defeat my huge, armoured mothership with 12 cannons
>my mothership is too heavy to fly
>my mothership is being pelted with shots
>my mothership is on fire
>BAIL OUT BAIL OUT
>the ammo store exploded killing everyone on board
>send in my three smaller ships
>one loses lift
>lands on the other
>both explode
>one ship left
>out of ammo now
>it's been a pleasure serving with you gentlemen
>ram it into the opponents ammo store
>their lift balloons explode, half my ship is disintegrated
>their ship plummets downwards towards their ground fleet
>complete destruction
>i have won
>my ship runs out of coal and falls on the top of the pile of ships
>1 crew member left
>10/10 would give PTSD again

This game is great. Modestly priced with a lot of replay value. The idea is you build your own fleet of fully modular and customisable ships and try to conquer other kingdoms. Building ships is a balancing act between armour, weight, crew, firepower and speed which requires a lot of thought to get right. The combat is action packed real-time strategy. Every battle is tense and will take its toll on your ships which will lose ammo, crew, and important modules if you are not careful. Requires quick thinking and change of strategy.

I funded the entire war effort by selling dropped enemy guns back to my own faction.

Let me start by saying: this game is not worth £10.99 (in it's current state) by any stretch of the imagination.
Let me then say: this game is great.
If you can find a buddy to play locally with, or even a group, it's hours of infuriating fun. The controls are simple and the game is easily picked up and played even if you are unfamiliar with the mechanics or have never played a traditional fighter. The singleplayer is obviously an afterthought but the AI is intelligent enough to keep things fresh and not mindnumbingly easy. The online multiplayer is completely barren. Don't bother.

8/10, fun game.

If you can stomach the frequent inexplicable crashes, what you have here is a demented and hilarious sandbox that'll entertain for hours.

It doesn't have the complexity of GTA Online, but it brings grappling hooks and free vehicles so what's not to like?

When it works, it's one of the best team based gaming experiences I've had.

However, when you're teamed up with a bunch of braindead morons or people who don't speak your language, have fun hitting the hull with a spanner over and over until your ship eventually explodes, at which point your Captain ragequits, along with the crew, leaving you to run someone else's ship on your own or face a leaving penalty.

That being said, this is a great game, just make sure to bring a friend to avoid the torment.

Some people have been saying this game is P2W, and on a very basic level it is, but keep reading.

Essentially, I could go in with £200, play 20-30hrs and have maxed out all of the best equipment in the game -

OR, I could pay absolutely nothing, and have hundreds of hours of one of the most fulfilling, challenging and exciting co-op experiences on Steam. Every hour I spent grinding paid off well and I didn't feel daunted by the hours of gameplay as there are plenty of levels to choose from, tonnes of bosses and a great community.

Building a new Warframe was exciting and well worth the hours of gameplay and downtime it takes to gather resources and build.

I have almost 100hrs into the game and I still feel like I could play 1000 more and still have more motives to play. Devs are great and are constantly adding new weapons, missions and frames to keep the game fresh.

10/10 only problem is that it destroyed my social life.
