As a dom 4 and 5 player: It's a definite upgrade, nothing too ground breaking and not quite as big as 4 to 5 was, but the quality of life changes are massive. It's overall much more polished and has room for growth, it makes 5 feel clunky funny enough.

As a new player: I have thousands of hours into dominions and will have countless more. What is 40$ against 1000+ hours of engagement?

I've played an 159 hours by Feb 4. Just buy it

It doesn't have as many mechanics as say battlefield 4. But hot damn is it fun.
Where else can you have 1k v 1k v 1k slugfests?
