It's pretty common to not risk telling your team you use the AWP. For the last 600 hours I could never really buy it in my competitive games.

When I first started playing the game I thought "I'll learn to use the AK47 soon". I've played other shooters before so the gun wasn't new to me. "The spray pattern doesn't make sense" - "How do they one tap me down mid every round?". My friends laughed, they didn't want me to think using the AWP was that bad. He even started buying skins for the gun and told a friend "It's just a one off."

I promised my friends money to buy smoke grenades and flashes, then I bought the AWP. I had to take on a second job at de_dust2 just to buy more AWPs.
