Ori and the Blind Forest is by far the best platformer I've ever played.

The art style is gorgeous and original. The graphics were highly detailed with stunning colors. It was amazing just to observe the environment of the game as I progressed through the game. I could really tell the considerable amount of effort put into the incredible visuals and animation.

As for gameplay, it is simplistic yet extremely fun. I love the level up system as it offers you choice depending on your personal playstyle. There are numerous abilities to learn as you progress through the game, and its a hell lot of fun to use them in battles, getaways, etc...

I don't usually pay too close attention to the music of a video game, but the soundtrack in this game is definitely one of the best I've ever heard. I loved that each world has its own unique music tracks that reallly do set the mood & atmosphere. The pieces are well written and applied effectively into gameplay.

The storyline was a fantastic component of the game. It is a heavily emotional plot that takes the player on a feels train all throughout the game, also including many unexpected twists and turns.

My only compliant is the fact that some areas are unavailable after you play through them. By this, I mean that you cannot come back to collect items in order to finish the area 100% and unlock achievements.

If you're looking for a platformer game, Ori and the Blind Forest is well worth your money.
