It's really good, but there is not enough content, the whole game feels like it's preparing for something bigger and then it just abruptly ends, it's not worth its 23€ price tag but if it's ever on sale, get it

I have very mixed feelings about the game. On one hand, it has a thriving community of devs making games. On the other, those games are all of very varying quality. On one hand, it has allowed me to make friends with people I would've never gotten along otherwise. On the other, most communities are very toxic and consist of children spamming the N word and blasting music thru their Quest 2 mics, or discriminatory adults that bully you if you have pronouns in your profile or if you selected an LGBTQ+ flag. None of the games are really a safe space for a certain community, the safest is the main hall, where you mostly just mess with people. Also, you move with your touchpads/thumbsticks, which may be a dealbraker for most and can cause a lot of motion sickess. I'm still giving it a thumbs up because it's a quality product, but please beware of these things before playing.

Cool tech demo, but it's on the verge of barely working as a piece of software in its newest form

Well... the game finally works. It defaults automatically to Ubisoft Connect, it's easier to configure a proper control method instead of whatever Steam Input decides to use, and the game is overall really good.

My problems with this game boil down to Ubisoft being Ubisoft.

Amazing game, pirate it instead of buying it here. Even if you're on Steam Deck like me, pirating a cracked version and getting it to show up in the UI with all the proper artwork is still less painful than living with the anxiety that Ubisoft might screw the game up again in the future.

(My system: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 32GB RAM, RTX 3070 Ti)

Even on the lowest settings and with "Ultra Performance" DLSS setting on, this game is often times basically unplayable. It's buggy, janky, unintuitive, and it's barely tested, chugs system resources, ♥♥♥♥♥ the original game's art direction and style, and in the end spits out such a mediocre result that shouldn't be passable by anyone, let alone a multi-billion dollar corporation with decades of experience in the field and 4 years worth of experience developing ray-tracing specific cards. This game could've been simply ray-traced and half of the issues I encountered wouldn't have even happened, the game would've looked basically the same with small, negligible differences and the framerate would've doubled. Instead, NVIDIA made a path-traced lighting system that a good chunk of people with RTX cards can't experience and won't be able to experience for at least an another decade, until NVIDIA or someone else drops a GPU that can actually play this unoptimized piece of ♥♥♥♥. Stay the ♥♥♥♥ away from this and if you REALLY want pretty Portal graphics, play Portal 2 or get some shader mods.

Seems like a very fun concept and a great game to replave Overcooked! 2 with (online don't work anymore, big sad), but at the moment it's so broken that it's not worth the hassle. Other reviews perfectly outline all the issues this game has. I'll update my rating once the game works.

In my 32 hours played of this game, I've beaten the game, 100% completed the main story, have started playing the DLC, unlocked a good chunk of all the suits, power-ups, and gadgets. I have already left a good review previously, being satisfied with the remaster and what was still kinda sucky. Here are my thoughts after seeing what the main story and mechanics have to offer.

THE STORY - Still as good as ever. This is the only part of the game that didn't require any fixing, and was completely solid in the first game on PS4.

THE GRAPHICS - Even on its launch on PS4, the game looked good. I've experimented with some graphical settings, and even at lower settings, this game still looks decent. However, the higher you go, the more diminishing returns you get, so my recommendation (if you have a powerful PC) is to just set everything as High and get the performance gains of not running at the highest possible settings. The animations are slightly nicer than the PS4 version but are still somewhat janky, the faces of the main characters are also slightly tweaked for the better, and overall the geometry and detail are generally better than what the PS4 could ever produce. However, the lighting is now somewhat behind newer games, and the ray tracing is, even 4 months after launch, abysmal. It's basically gulps your GPU horsepower for maybe 5% better building reflections, 30% worse everything else. I've encountered numerous visual glitches with it being turned on, and it even takes away from some of the more emotional parts of the game, where the light's temperature helped convey a lot of emotions. DLSS wasn't much better, with Quality presets making the game more smeary with maybe 5 more frames rendered in your FPS, and with Performance presets making the game way more pixellated and ugly. I got far better results with FSR.

THE SOUND - Again, a part that didn't require change. All the music is adaptive and plays back in a phenomenal way, hyping you up and making you feel as something much greater. The sound effects are also decent and I never thought that something wasn't played back properly or was out of place. The music is good, the SFX are good.

THE GAMEPLAY - I have some mixed feelings about this part. Obviously, they improved what little needed improving in Spider-Man's gameplay, and now he controls tigher, more accurate but still fun as ever. However, I noticed far more bugs in the remaster than in the OG PS4 game. For one, the physics are super weird, with ragdolls instantly hitting the ground instead of actually being affected by gravity, a lot of larger objects behaved weirdly when moved, the entity driving, even the Sable guys or thugs, was atrotious, and a lot of other little details about the OG game that became undone in the remaster. I even clipped through buildings, twice! Also, a lot of stuff loaded much slower than on PS4.

OVERALL - It's a good remaster and the definitive way to experience this game, at the cost of some weird kinks the devs are yet to work out.
