Hollow Knight deserves someone who would actually play it, cos from what I've played it's a great game and it's still supported by the developers.

If you want to escape from terribly large games with far too much to do, then The Tiny Bang Story, currently a free game, will rid you of all that anxiety and addictive behavior by way of soothing music, pretty art, point & click gameplay with hidden objects and puzzle solving. Yes, it's another indie game that looks good and sounds good, but life is about balance and I highly recommend this palate cleanser after 300 hours of The Witcher 3.

I dare you to find a game that's more fun than Swarmlake at 48 cents (current sale price) or 99 cents.
Dominique Grieshofer made one of the most relaxing games I've played on Steam, Refunct, so it's only fitting that he'd make one of the most intense games on Steam as well. I don't have a ton experience with games similar to this, but Swarmlake is insanely fun. Following the method of Refunct, the game shines with its clean design, great soundtrack and fun gameplay. I just can't believe it costs an euro, considering the amount of horrible garbage sold on Steam at the same price tag. I wish the developer all the best, lots of money and lots of love!

Once you get past the annoyance of infrequent checkpoints, missing jumps or walking off ledges from either bad depth perception, it being too dark or the nature of 2.5D platformers, it's actually a brilliant puzzle-platformer. Whether it was conscious or subconscious for Tarsier Studios or just imaginary on my end, I sensed the influence of both Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Hayao Miyazaki, which is always a plus in my book. It's a bit on the short side, but I'm glad there are three DLC episodes waiting for me and the base game warrants another playthrough for the atmosphere, horror and puzzles, not to mention the collectibles you might miss.

I pre-ordered Little Nightmares but finished it today, cos I can get pretty rage-quitty when I have to replay parts of a level too many times due to a lack of checkpoints. That being said, its stealthy nature, short length (5-6 hours) and often going through a room from the floor level, climbing up to the rafters and making your way back, people accidentally messing up their saves would be likely, I guess. Or maybe not, I don't know. No regrets about pre-ordering though, cos Little Nightmares is a quality experience all the way through. Things can get pretty tense, the look and sounds of the enemy certainly helps with that.

I paid 1.19 for this, so keep that in mind and it's a short game as well. I don't want to say bad things, since a lot of time and effort goes into making games, regardless of genre, but I basically had to turn the sound way down so that the voice acting and music wouldn't annoy me as much. The voice acting was so bad that I lost complete interest in everything that was said and therefore in the story as well. I applaud the effort that went into the writing, even though I ignored most of it. Caligo looks somewhat pretty and unique, I just wish the same amount of effort went into the voice acting. I can overlook bad voice acting if the concept is unique. INFRA comes to mind.

Most of you are probably going to buy it for the three achievements, which is fine, cos the devs included them and you can find the collectibles you missed by selecting a chapter, which is always a bonus.

I was locked out of a lot of games due to not having a controller, so I finally got one and Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons was the first game I wanted to play. You could technically play it with a keyboard, but from what I tried to play, it's not worth the effort. The game's been designed with a controller in mind.

Controlling two characters simultaneously is a trippy experience and not something I've seen in any other game, so I hope other developers will steal it and build on it. It's a 4-hour game so I won't go into spoilers, but the way they've used it as a story device is particularly inventive.

Naiee and Naia appear to be talking nonsense, but I sensed a hint of Arabic and was reminded that creative director Josef Fares hails from Lebanon. His heritage mixed with his Swedish upbringing makes for an interesting cultural mix that is reflected in the game. The story is pretty heartbreaking, but the gameplay keeps things light, from kids just being kids to fun puzzle solving between brothers of complementary skills. And yes, it's one of those mandatory indie games.

No dialogue whatsoever, only sounds and music, limited interaction and a story that is dull. Firewatch and Dear Esther are examples of great dialogue and narration respectively, I'm not sure what example is set in Virginia. Not every scene requires words to be spoken, but it's hard to get invested in a 2-hour silent movie that requires input, it feels like work. If you have a laptop, I suggest playing it with a touchpad, so you can at least chill out on the couch while you play this.

Nice art style, nice music, nice menu and fine if you get it cheap. It's price during sales obviously puts it on the radar of achievement hunters and I suggest playing it in one go, cos quitting before the end resets one achievement, which plays into a second achievement, so you'd be looking at 3 playthroughs at least if you take a break during the first one, which feels like a middle finger, but hey, I'm gonna do it, so I guess they got me good. #sad

You play a member of the Civil Protection unit, otherwise known as a Metrocop, which was a first for me. Your enemies are Resistance members, both humans and Vortigaunts. I liked it, there were some tough fights, I had to babysit a Stalker, which was the best part of the game and it just got better and better. City 10 doesn't look all that good tbh, even though this is a HL2: Episode Two mod, if I'm not mistaken, but as soon as the environment got more Combiney, I was much more immersed. All in all, a great experience.

For starters, it doesn't look as crystal clear as the screenshots suggest and I had everything on Epic. The Fidelio Incident is an act of running to your wife, but only when sprinting is allowed, solving puzzles and collecting pages of a journal along the way. You and your wife got separated during a plane crash over Iceland. You fight hypothermia by running from one vent to the next, from one fire to the next. Hot air is used to solve most of the puzzles in the game by rerouting steam via pipes and there's no need to assemble or rearrange pipes. Nevertheless I appreciated the bit of puzzle solving there is, cos it adds to the immediacy of your wife freezing or burning to death. Few of the hypothermia runs were very close calls, but you can easily see where you need to go and survive.

Your wife asks you to pick up the pages of her journal that got scattered during the crash, for reasons I won't get into. You may or may not find all of them on your first run, I missed two of them, but they don't stop you from reaching your wife or change the outcome of the game. I realize I'm taking most of the lure out of a 3-hour game by even talking about it. The voice acting is nice, especially if you love the Irish accent, but some of the dialogue and exposition was a bit heavy-handed. I didn't like certain sequences and generally got annoyed with the game during the last hour or so. The pacing of trying to save your wife and reading her journal pages with her narration just doesn't work for me, not sure if it'll work for you. I suggest picking it up during a sale. It's a general Yes from me, but I'll vote No in this case.

After 219 hours, completing the main game, Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine, I've come to the conclusion that The Witcher 3 is a terrible game. What a complete waste of time. But in all seriousness, I'm going to pretend to enjoy my next game as much as Witcher 3 and then return to Witcher 3, so I can play it on Death March, look for Ciri again, make smarter choices and once again be saddened by the fact that I'm not likely to find a better game anytime soon. Over 141,000 people have liked it on Steam, I'm sure you will too.
