I've had a lot of fun with this game. I just wish that the main scenario were longer.

Wow, was this a nostalgia trip! Have been having fun revisiting it with the higher quality video (I had this on Sega CD originally)

I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs like some people seem to have. I was able to do a complete playthrough. You can tell however that this was a bit more slapped together than the Night Trap re-release was that was done by the same company. For example, there are typos all throughout the instructions pages.

There is an In Memorium video at the end of the game that was quite sad to see. Other than Corey Haim, I hadn't realized so many people from this game have passed; most fairly young too.

I can't comment on the bonus content as you need to complete the game with a grade of A to unlock it, which seems near impossible. Makes me think there probably isn't a ton of bonus content? The theater mode though is really nice; allows you to just watch each video clip in its entirety without worrying about trapping.

This game was one of the best of it's type at the time, though the format itself has problems. It was quite a bit better than Night Trap (made by the same people) in terms of its production value and execution, it just slid under the radar in terms of popularity. (It didn't have any controversy fueling it) Side fact: It was directed by Mary Lambert who directed the original Pet Semetary video as well as several high profile music videos like Madonna's Like a Prayer. You can see a substantial rise in quality of the production value.

Recomended for: Those who played the original and enjoyed it. Younger people who are curious about gaming history and wants to experience this odd little era of gaming; this is a very good example of it.

Overall excellent addition to the Civ series, but time will still tell if it has the same amount of longevity as CIV 5 did.

I have very mixed feelings about this game. I am a story based adventure gaming fan who actually really loves FMV titles, so it's somewhat surprising even to myself that I am giving this a negative review. That is because this is not a game; heck I don't think it even qualifies for the title Interactive Movie. The entirety of it is spent watching videos and discussing what you saw in the videos via comments like a youtube video.......The thing is, I don't need to pay 19.99 to do that. There is no real interactivity in this game and no puzzles and on top of that, I actually found the story to be just so-so. But, at the same time this is a project that is anything but typical and it is a bit outside of the box....however I really think they should and needed to do more with the concept.

As an experience, it is recomended as a one time novelty.
As a game, definitely not.

This game is and always has been fantastic. Definitely play it if you haven't. It is a timeless classic. However, DotEMU, the company that has done the Steam version has made some misteps - the menus, hud, and inventory are not as good as they used to be. There were also a lot of little glitches throughout the game that were not present for me before, but nothing game killing I was also disappointed to see that the closing credits have been axed. (those who played the original release know what I'm talking about.)

The game itself though gets a 9.5/10
