The best metroidvania ever made. It takes the well-established formula of Super Metroid, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and their successors solidified and executes on it perfectly. There's a splash of Dark Souls and beautiful hand-drawn artwork with a soundtrack that creates a unique atmosphere for each area.

If you loved the Binding of Isaac, this is a must-play. Otherwise, I still recommend it as one of Edmund's best games, but you will get way more out of it if you play Binding of Isaac first. Don't be turned off by the match 4 puzzle mechanics. It has a lot of strategy and depth.
The negative reviews are mostly about its shaky and buggy launch, which, while unfortunate, is no longer an issue. Almost all the bugs have already been patched out.

Simply amazing. Never played another game like it, the zero-g mechanic is extremly original and entertaining as hell. The gameplay is extremely fast paced and skilled. Every class has a very unique and fun playstyle. Very responsive controls and satisfying audio for fair and incredibly fun combat. Bleszinski has truly outdone himself on this one. If you like FPS games and enjoy gameplay that rewards skill, definitely pick this up.

Dying Light is basically what Dead Islan had the potential to be. I personally love Dead Island, although I understand why a lot of people were disappointed. Pretty much everything that was bad about Dead Island was fixed in this game, plus they added a whole bunch of fun new mechanics like the parkour. I know that I am reviewing this game like it is a sequel to Dead Island, but that is because it really feels like a spiritual successor to that game. Combat is very fun and extremely rewarding, co-op is very good, with teamork being essential, loot is varied and fun. Not only combat skill is important, but also strategy is vital, giving the game a high and rewarding skill ceiling. The skill trees are fantastic, most of the skills in them are very good, making decisions on which to get very difficult. For me the game is a little bit unstable and buggy, but others have not had any trouble so I'm not sure what the deal is, but honestly, I don't care. It is almost like Skyrim in that regard. Buggy, but no one cares because it is so good. 10/10

Really great game with a virtually non-existent skill ceiling. I always find myself coming back to it and the community is great.

I have never written a review before, and although this game certainly doesn't need anymore good reviews (Although it very much so deserves them), I feel obligated to give something back to Squad for making such an amazing game.

One of my favorite aspects of this game is how realistic it is. Even though it is simplified considerably, I think they have found the perfect balance between realism and accessability. When I was younger, I had a great interest in space, it was my favorite topic, although my interest in it has faded significantly over the years. Kerbal Space Program not only has renewed that interest, it has gone even further. I now find myself reading up on all the latest space technology and updates from NASA. It has taught me so much about rocket engineering and orbital mechanics that I feel qualified to oversee a real space mission. Of course, I probably shouldn't, unless you want a bunch of dead astronauts.

The game is funny enough to keep it lighthearted and fun, while remaining difficult, but not unreasonably so, keeping you on your toes at all times. Despite the difficulty, it is forgiving with the ability to quicksave wherever you fancy as well as the handy "Revert Flight" button that I probably have clicked more than any other. The difficulty can be changed to make it much easier and if that's not easy enough for you, install MechJeb, one of the many incredible mods for this game.

There is so much to do in that you will never get bored, just at look at the amount of hours people have poured into it for proof of that. You will probably find, that after many many failures, you just can't handle it anymore. Then take a break from the rockets, go build yourself a spaceplane and explore Kerbin! Spaceplane keeps crashing and you can't figure it out? Go look up tutorials on the internet! Even if you have been to every planet and moon in the game and built bases and space stations on every single one, you can set special limitations on yourself and try to complete nigh-impossible missions. If you get mad at the cruel gods of KSP, then build a simple plane or rocket and fly it directly into a building. The resulting explosion is more than satisfying. Or you could shoot some Kerbals directly into the sun. That'll show 'em.

From its many fantastic mods to its tutorials and help videos to its forums where people share ideas and get advice from fellow players, Kerbal Space Program has one of the best communities of any game. You will find on the forums that people are very friendly and more than willing to help new players. Trust me, we've all been there. There is so much potential here that I donubt I will ever "finish."

Complaints usually target the steep learning curve, and I will admit it is steep, even with the tutorials. But not impossible. It really isn't bad at all and is actually kind of fun, because when you finally make orbit, when you finally land on the Mun, when you finally build a space station, the feeling of sheer euphoria is the best I have ever found in a game.

Basically, I don't recommend this game because it has lots of heartstopping action (although it is heartstopping), cool guns for your spaceship (although there are mods for that), or neat, futuristic ships (although, again, there are mods for that). I recommend this game for the (at least) hundreds of hours of my life that it has taken andwill continue to take. They are hours well spent that I will never want back.
