I Downloaded the game on Gamepass to try it out, after that absolute banger of a Prologue I immediately went to buy the game.

The fact that this was made by JUST 32 ex-ubisoft devs (33 if u count the dog) shows you just how amazing games can be in the right hands.

Update : I just finished it, it's one of the greatest games I've ever played, and is absolutely my GOTY for 2025!

Great game, some things like the combat are better than zero dawn but I still prefer the storyline of HZD. If Zero Dawn was a 9/10 then I'd give Forbidden West an 8.7/10

I'll definitely be playing the third game so keep up the good work Guerrilla!

One of the best Expansions I've ever played tbh, right under Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine.

A fitting end to Cyberpunk 2077 and a must buy, although another Expansion would be nice :)

Tbh this is a good game , but I feel like theres some things that could be Improved , from big things like the annoyingly slow Stealth , to the small things like the hitmarkers (sometimes I can't tell when I've hit an enemy or not).

But the ONE thing I hate the most about this game is the BOT AI , the amount of times we've got noticed by a sleeper because the BOT just randomly shoots the enemy Instead of being stealthy is ALARMINGLY high, they should make a command to make Bots silent/stealth.

I'm hoping this game gets the recognition it deserves , cuz If done right this is a really fun game to play with friends !

Thank You 10 Chambers for giving us a chance to play your game ! , more game devs should to this IMHO because it gives gamers a good sense of a game before they buy it.

Elden Ring might just be one of the Best Open-World games I've ever played.

Here are some things that I summarized from my 100 Hours of playing as a casual gamer.

Journey into the Lands Between
The Open-World in this game might be the most detailed I've ever seen. It has never ending catacombs/caves, HUGE underground maps, and many castles for you to explore. It is also filled with some fun (and brutally challenging) Mini-Bosses that you can find randomly in multiple areas, the only downside of this is of course the obvious amounts of re-used bosses (with the same soundtrack) and a lot of catacombs that look same-ish , which makes exploration feels a bit repetitive at times.

Storyline and Side-Quests
Now this might be a hot take , but IMO souls games have never Interested me in terms of it's Storyline , even though the story is told much better than in Previous souls games , it still fails to encaptivate me as much as other Open World RPG's such as The Witcher 3. That's not to say the Story is bad , it's just if you want to fully understand it , you have to watch like a 10 hour lore video 🤣.

The Side Quests however has been awesome , Ranni's / Fia's / Volcano Manor's Quests are examples of the ones that Intrigued me the most. Hoping that FromSoft adds a more Engaging storyline with a future DLC (was very saddened that GRRM only made the backstory of Elden Ring, I thought that he made the whole storyline).

Gameplay and Bosses
This game might have my favourite gameplay ever, FromSoft did a great job by taking what's already great from DS3 , and Improving it on Elden RIng , like the amount of different builds you can make in this game is Astonishing , and FINALLY Mages don't feel like a useless class anymore.

I also loved the addition of the Wondrous Physick flask , It just adds to the overall variety this game already delivers so much of.

As for bosses , FromSoft have really shown their creativity on this game , most of the bosses feel really balanced and are quite fun to fight against , and the crazy thing is ? , YOU CAN NEVER GET STUCK ON A BOSS ANYMORE ! , if a boss feels too hard for you then just explore and level up more !

But as many of you know , this game's last 1/3rd portion really suffers from unbalanced level scaling , like whose Idea was it to make Malenia have Life Steal , no recovery time on her attacks , AND HAVE RNG INVOLVED ??? , I've never felt like a boss was "Unfair" until I met Malenia , I mean I've seen many people that had to Respecc their characters just to defeat her like wtf ?. They've basically put Isshin, The Sword Saint , gave him Scarlet Rot , and placed him in a Souls game where your movement is very limited , Ridiculous.

Like seriously it's really infuriating how they essentially made your character useless again once you've reached Elphael. it honestly felt like The Ringed City DLC again , where they made that portion of the game Harder than everything else just for the sake of it being "Hard".

Soundtrack and Performance
You may not like this but , IMO the soundtrack in this game (Although Great) isn't as good as DS3's , idk it just feels repetitive at times (Especially the Tree Sentinel one ugh) , and most of the Boss Soundtrack's weren't very memorable , The Main Theme and Malenia's Soundtrack are the only ones that were memorable to me (In Comparison to DS3's Slave Knight Gael, Midir , Sister Friede, Abyss Watchers , and many more).

As for Performance......... yeah no let's not talk about that....

Conclusion

Is Elden Ring "The Greatest Game of all time" ? , no it definitely isn't. But was it a fun to explore , massive Open World with hours of content , has an astonishingly beautiful art style , engaging side quests , Awesome gameplay, AND was an absolute BLAST to play ?.

Yes, absolutely.

And so I hereby conclude that Elden Ring is the BEST experience I've had with a FromSoftware game, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to ANYONE who loves Open World RPG's and Story-Driven games in general.

My Final Rating for Elden Ring is a 9/10 🔥

Wouldn't really recommend buying this since there's very little content in it , and the repeated use of the same enemy type , with it's abysmal 4 hours of gameplay.

Unless you are buying the season pass or you've bought the deluxe edition , this isn't really worth it.

Although the Father Ariandel and Sister Friede Bossfight is pretty cool :)

6/10
