Hard to get into with the dated graphics and level design, combats not great either, check out dark souls for a more interesting gothic game with better combat dark souls wont fail you for beating your enemy in a fight

EDIT: Reached Escape! and the game really picked up! the last 3 missions have some of the best gameplay I've played in a game lately 9/10 from me for the last 3, skip the early missions imo

Strange bedfellows in particular has a really challenging and fun objective to kill all of a certain unique enemy in that level! Really kept the adrenaline going for that one and that mission gets a solid 10/10 from me

Check out basedmods for the stupid body type 1 and 2 thing to be reverted to it's classic style!

None of the RPGs on steam are really hard. Yeah, sure 90s RPGs were tougher than ones today, but they weren't tough.

You want to know what was tough? Wizardry was tough. The first three ones were pretty bad. The boss of Wizardry 1, for instance, could do about a hundred damage to your entire party with a single spell, and it's unlikely your mage, cleric or bishop ever got above 60 hp or so, so he'd generally kill half your party in the first round of combat, and the other half next round. Of course, even some of the later random opponents could do that. And then there were the ninjas that could kill your party members automatically on a critical hit. And resurrection only worked sometimes, and often cost you stats. And you only had 8 inventory slots per person, most of which had to be spent on equipment; and even if you had more room, the potions were rare treasures that restored maybe 1-8 HP, and there was no way to restore spells without returning to town. Plus there were the dark zones and the antimagic zones and the spinners and the non-euclidian maps that defied mapping and left you with no way home... And even if you survived all that, you could still die of old age.

Wizardry is fun, in its own way. Many people think it's the best rpg ever made. But it is hard. It's hard enough to make grown men cry. ONly real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ men play wizardry, or real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ drug addicts who don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about living or dying.

Tower ai targeting is absolute garbage and would rather throw bombs at single enemies earlier in the path rather than clusters of enemies in range further down the path
