I never played Shadowrun but I'm really digging this game. It's a turn-based RPG essentially. The amount of activities you can do is fairly limited but there are side "quests" you can take during certain parts of the game to gain Karma (skill points) and nuyen (cash).

The game doesn't seem like it's a full-fledged RPG with multiple quests and I wish you could manage a party. Instead you hire runners for each job but you can't really customize them or buy new weapons for them or anything. I would say that's a good description for the entire game as it stands--limited. Is it fun? Definitely. Could it stand for more features and content? Definitely.

The feel of the game is pretty cool, sort of like Blade Runner. I like the writing, it's all text-based, no voice-acting. The story is interesting and I like the exploratory aspect (again, it's limited as it's pretty linear).

The battles are fun but a bit limited (and over too fast IMO)... there's a sweet mode called Decking where you jack into the Matrix and battle digitally. I really like it but it only makes an appearance a few times (so far). Mostly you'll want to focus on ranged combat; I chose Pistols and Shotguns. Mages seem limited, if I did it again I wouldn't put any points into Willpower, instead I'd go full Cyberware. Quickness and Intelligence seem to reign supreme so far with some Strength for HP/etc.

Savegames are a bit weird... essentially you need to reach the next area (loading screen) and the game autosaves. In big missions, you access a new floor/area and then it saves. It's just the right amount of time between autosaves, about 30 mins. I do wish they just added quicksave or some other save mechanism (not during a battle, mind you, but while outside battles).

Overall it's good; it was worth the sale price I bought it at... I would love to see more content, quests, and items, so here's looking forward to expansions!
