i have a lot of feelings ab this game

it's an extremely unique audiovisual experience for one. everything is in motion. the background, the creature's procedural animations, the water physics, all of it pulls you into the game. the sound design is also really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good!! it could be better in some places but hey it's an indie game

the gameplay is groundbreakingly amazing and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the same time. i can't even imagine all of the work the devs put in to create such a detailed and complete "ecosystem." you're a slugcat in this dangerous world, and you have to play your role. and being prey in a world of predators is really fun, especially in those moments when you have a chance to fight back and play with the limb/physics based combat the game has. but the are so many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ways you can die and when you pair that with the fact that there's a story but no real way to determine progress/objectives, the game becomes extremely frustrating.

so yeah the game is frustrating and stupid sometimes but it's also so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ engrossing. it's so beautiful, and there have been moments in the game where i've genuinely been in awe at what i was beholding. there have been moments where i did some risky ♥♥♥♥ and it paid off, and sometimes when i get eaten by some of these lovecraftian ass creatures it genuinely makes my stomach curdle a lil bit. i cherish ♥♥♥♥ like this because there aren't that many games, especially in these sterile times, that take you through those emotional highs and lows.

if you want a unique experience that'll stick with you, i'd give it a try. i don't expect that you'll play through the whole thing, though. i've had this game in my library since it came out and i didn't get the patience to continue my playthrough until recently.

LISA Is very great

came out of a yume nikki clone which is pretty awesome

it's very big on trauma and drug abuse

also big on fatherhood and many masc things

it's pretty emotionally damaging to play, but that negativity is balanced well with the funny parts and the whole absurdity of the setting and those who inhabit it

i still think about LISA to this day, and i don't think i've touched the game since like 2017

classic game! put some money in dingaling's pocket, they deserve it

one of the more fun games where you shoot people. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the writing's bad though

really hard, kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard sometimes

but so cool! it's really ambitious. they tried to make a grand tale out of the whole hotline miami thing with this one

and it mostly stuck its landing =) hits you with crazy unhinged hotline miami moments, but also some really touching sentimental ♥♥♥♥ mixed in with some moments that honestly still kinda spook me out to this day

this game and the watchmen comic have an extremely similar ethos to me, so if you liked watchmen, you'd definitely ♥♥♥♥ w this.

this game is not fun at all

playing through the game is extremely dreadful; every gameplay element is hard to keep up with, and if you do badly enough, you could even get softlocked out of being able to progress. i lowkey had to restart, so i've played this game like 1.5 times

but i mean, living in the town on the gorkhon river is dreadful. everything there sucks, and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and hard mechanics really do well in making you feel like you're actually artemy burakh, the starving, poor, hated organ harvesting doctor who is tasked to somehow saving this dying town

most of what you do in this game is rather inconsequential to the plot, but bruv i've never felt so connected and interested in a game's world and characters. i knew saving lil ol notkin from the sand plague wasn't going to really do much mechanically--in fact, it'd probably make my experience worse due to wasting precious resources on his sickness--but i(atremy) had taken this kid under my wing, and i cared for the sanctity of him and his weird otherkin gang. you'll have similar experiences with all the other characters you meet in this game: they have an extremely lasting impression on you, friend or foe.

also, the art style and direction is absolutely insane. i've seen nothing of the sort before, and it's extremely impressive. combine it with the uncanny, picturesque writing and you've got this surreal dreamy vibe that i've only seen in majora's mask. in fact, in a lot of ways, this game is extremely similar to majora's mask. majora's mask fans, you'll love this ♥♥♥♥

idk, pathologic 2 is one of the tightest and thematically complete gaming experiences i've ever had and it's fr changed how i consume art, be it games, books, movies, whatever. a real taste-making experience for me, or maybe a taste-affirming experience that began so long ago w/ majora's mask

can't say enough about it tbh, can't do it the justice it deserves w/ my lay-speech. it's maybe my favorite game oat, but i wouldn't suggest it unless you really feel like suffering through the bs it hands you.
