Offering to go to war with a faction you were going to go to war with anyway is an easy way to get a faction to like you. Bribing factions turn by turn with small chunks of gold also increases their affinity with you and you can usually convince the factions around you to go to war. e.g. I made all the Dwarves and all the Skaven and all the Tomb Kings go to war with Grimgore. So while I was taking Black Crag, he was off having fun in the mountains. If the faction has 'aversion' to you however I haven't yet found a way to break through that diplomatic penalty. e.g. Lizardmen won't trust you if you're playing Skaven. Unless I guess the campaign's gone really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for them and you've been at war with their enemies for a very long time. In which case they're weak anyway, so that's kind of besides the point.
