TLDR: not recommended in its current state and price tag. Barely an RPG with almost 0 choices. Mediocre open world action game with good combat that tends to stale quickly.

Pros:
- Combat is fun at its core
- The graphics are good (generally)
- Map is... large ... which is kind of a CON as well...
- .... the character creator is good? Only two playable races though...

Cons:
- MTX (not necessary, but feels like a slap in the face for a $70 single player game)
- Performance issues
- The story is a steaming pile of dog s***
- All the characters are lackluster and have no development whatsoever
- Lack of weapon variety
- Lack of enemy variety
- Enemy Spacing (fight 3 goblins, move half a kilometer, fight 3 wolves, move, 3 goblins, move, 3 wolves, etc...)
- 2 permanent fast travel points in the entire game with a couple more fast travel points you can earn and move yourself (not easy to earn unless you use MTX)
- Fast travel costs 10,000 gold each time
- Traveling the map feels like a chore and is not rewarding (see above five points)
- Can only equip 4 skills at once
- Only 6 vocations for companions (with 2/6 being variations of 2 basic vocations)
- Companions are soulless (literally called "pawns")
- Companions are mind-numbing annoying (repeating lines over and over again and also have pretty meh combat AI)
- NPCs are all copy paste nothingness that makes the world feel less alive

I really wanted this game to be good, and I think it really had a chance. It needed more time in the oven, and now I'm eating raw dough instead of bread. However, I ate the s*** out of that raw dough, played 70 hours because the combat is actually pretty fun. The only reason I lasted that long is because I love trying new classes and combat styles, otherwise the combat would have staled as well.

I compare games to what I hope to consider the new industry standards:
RPG: Baldurs Gate 3
Action Open World: Elden Ring

This game tries to blend both and fails on all accounts. It's an RPG with a "story" that leaves the player feeling uninterested and confused. All the characters are boring and your companions feel like toddlers that have nothing to add EVER. Sometimes the game just forgets about character/stories. Oh you thought the goal was to overthrow the corrupt monarch in the first city that you spend 70% of the game in? Nope, now you're helping her business partner control a dragon. Also the pacing is terrible and everything past the first city feels extremely rushed.

It's an open world action game with 0 incentive to explore. In Elden Ring, I loved exploring to see what unique fun weapons I would find. In this game for the class I mained (Warrior), there are 14 total weapons in the entire game. Each of those weapons had the exact same move set and only changed numbers/damage types. Almost every weapon/armor can be bought for gold, so there's no reason to check out that little cave you found. Half the time the reward was a weapon I already owned and the other half the time was a weapon that was just plain worse number wise than my current weapon. Those times where I did explore and then found a "unique" equipment (unique in appearance and numbers ONLY) felt like a fever dream. I eventually started looking everything I wanted up online because exploring (and even travelling in general) felt like a chore more than an adventure.

This game definitely needs a story update/overhaul as it falls extremely flat in that regard. I can overlook most the other issues but the story is so bland and confusing it makes me mad. I played this game a lot and there's something to be said for that. It did make me want to keep playing and keep coming back, despite the issues. However, I would never dream of recommending this game to any of my friends in its current state. If you like monster hunter and open world games, I think you might be able to play this and enjoy it. However, it is not anywhere near worth the $70 price tag. This is worth $30 at most in my opinion.

Amazing game.

Most RPG's put you into the shoes of a badass.
Kenshi puts the badass's shoe up your ass.

You're not strong, you're not the main character, and you will die... a lot. Not for the light of heart, but an extremely addictive and immersive experience. Get this game if you're the kind of player that makes up a backstory to go with your character.

Amazing game, 9/10 would play again.

Try to remeber that we play games for fun, even though most the community has forgotten.

Skins are worthless, don't do it.
