Great demo, it was short but it was basically everything I could've asked for in a nice little game like this, and I admire it! I honestly thought that I'd find the room having more interactions that impact the game beyond just giving a few lines of flavor text here and there. Looking forward to the full release!

P.S. I came from ManlyBadassHero's video.

This is a pretty good visual novel and entry to the Science;Adventure series. It has pretty good mystery elements and was thrilling to read through.
As for some of the downsides, unfortunately the first couple of chapters are somewhat slow and boring, though it definitely does get better. The main story was great, however the subroutes for each characters, as well as the "true ending" you get after you go through all the routes felt monotonous and somewhat mediocre, it was a stark contrast in quality. They mainly served to tie up loose ends that the writers felt didn't have a place in the main route. Additionally, I wish you could just skip to the routes, since skipping through the entire game over and over to get to all the routes was quite a chore.
Overall, I think that it is a good read, though if you stop playing after the main route and just wanna look at a summary instead, nobody will blame you.

it was a pretty good perspective, all in all. if you dont commit to anything, even if you dont want to, youll just fail basically. i wish the kenji route wasnt so difficult to avoid though...

i gave this game another go and oh my goodness that was good (i did rin's route). i think you will have a blast if you just do the route for whichever character you like the most

All around, the game is good and it lives up to the expectations that it set up for itself in the past. It's worth buying and playing through.

HOWEVER
They removed a very impactful allegory that held great meaning, while touching on a very serious topic. This is inexcusable, and whether or not they even intended the meaning it had, removing it was the wrong choice as even if it was somewhat direct; it is still not forced, and is ultimately left up to the players interpretation (I didn't even get this on my first go through until rewatching the scene later). I get that it was heavily interpreted in the wrong way, but I still think that they shouldn't have removed anything.
EDIT: They changed it, and while I think they did a good job with the new symbol that's overall more direct and gets what they wanted to get across cleaner, I hope that in the future they touch on important topics such as these more.

I guess you can't have good games without having bad games.
Everhood 2 is a sequel to Everhood obviously, yet on a surface level doesn't seem to live up to the first game, have an impactful story, interesting characters or player-choice like the first game. This game masquerades as something important or impactful while immediately halting any possible plot points or even starts to a story with cheap plot twists that don't make sense.
Aside from that, the game constantly steers you in one direction while trying to make you think that anything you do matters. The personality test only tells you what soul color you get which doesn't really affect much, if you try to face a certain boss before your supposed to and lose then the game autosaves RIGHT after you die so you can't play your own way and fight it until you win. Accidentally missed a secret? Sorry, you can't reload your save so you can do it, you got hit by a forced autosave RIGHT after the window of opportunity where you can see the secret so you have to replay the entire game to get there now. I wish I could refund this.

Pros
- More Mechanically developed battle system
- Nice music
- Pretty cool visuals

Cons
- Story Railroading
- Passive "Storytelling"
- Nothing interesting
- Doesn't live up to the first game
- No Story
- No Player Choice
- Low Replay Value

A first person dungeon crawler roguelike with a heavily unique style, where you can POKEMON enemies and use their spells. Spells are flashy, but they're diverse enough to not just be style over substance. Managing your runes is pretty fun too, and building a rune economy. Most of the story revolves in the characters, so if you like edgy albeit relatable characters (I really like Gary since he's the loner type) then I think you'll like this game. Also, it's getting a pretty big update soon so getting it sooner than later before the price increases would be smart, since this game has a lot of different things to love.

Good game all around. It's a story game where the player's input is treated with respect at heart, and it accomplishes it very well. It's pretty short, too. If you like these games then this might be some good short fun for you.
Also, my personality was the adventurer.

I wish your final action had more care put into it, since every interaction causes your meter inwhich your run gets finished is over and how the game changes, it can lead to frustrating results, such as trying to make your final action something, but that action is locked behind one required dialog scenario to get to it.
