i have dated multiple girls that were like this and i was either completely obsessed with them and broke down when they left or they were the most stupid, insufferable, most narcissistic person ever--with literally no in between. i pray to god that i will never in the future meet another person who resembles the mc of this game bc i cannot be certain i wont let them ruin my life. i hated playing this game bc it was too real

Early Access Review
another of many fun games ruined by weirdos who use fiction to justify their sick fantasies as well as chronically-online woke scolds--unfortunately, this game has been thrown into an involuntary tug-of-war match with all kinds of nasty folk. Being mad at a video game is just as silly as using a video game to justify rightfully-forbidden fetishes.

It's a bizarre piece of art, no doubt, but one that does not lean on contrivance to tell its story and has clearly been very careful in its approach of taboo. The incestual undertones make sense contextually and in no way is the author trying to paint these characters in any light other than as total weirdos who do weird things as a result of a horrible situation. You are supposed to be made uncomfortable and I might be so bold as to say in a world where murder and even cannibalism don't shock us anymore, incest might be the only way to properly achieve that sense of discomfort. It is a narrative device, not a subliminal attempt to normalize "gene overlapping."

It's a really well-written story with some of the most natural and authentic dialogue between characters I've seen in a piece of fiction. They could be real people, and that is horrifying. Scariest game I've played all year.

I had to rewrite this review because of how many poor decisions the devs made post-release. The #1 biggest problem of this game is the RIDICULOUS cost of DLC. Keep in mind, it's not the quality or even the content of the DLC I'm concerned with, it's the greater message it sends.

The developers have spat in the face of the community and said "no, your money isn't good enough. we want more." The people who defend this kind of practice are experiencing an advanced form of Stockholm Syndrome and should seek psychiatric help. The DLC is not worth the cost, and even if it was, pumping out DLC before addressing gameplay problems is not a good look.

That being said, the developers have made some good changes (that should have been done prior to release, but I guess this is the state of the industry *sigh*) and the gameplay loop has been marginally improved. It's just downright confusing how a team that made F13 (one of my personal favorite assym horror games) dropped the ball this hard. To anyone considering buying, understand you are not respected as a consumer and if you're fine with that, go ahead and purchase. It's still a pretty alright game.

As for the team and publisher, some PR and a reversal on previous poor decisions would go a long way to win back the huge portion of the player base that has been driven away by those bad decisions. Hemorrhaging roughly 9,000 avg. players (90% loss) in a fiscal quarter is not good business.
