Some of the most fun I've had with an action RPG in years. Van Helsing's brand of fantasy differs enough from the norm to be refreshing, the game is full of fine humor (with tons of pop culture references - beware if you don't like them, but I do), secrets and easter eggs. The six classes play quite different and even within each class there are many possible and viable builds that play differently so customization and optimization are quite fun (even if in some cases a dominant strategy can be found a bit too easily). There's some crafting but not a ton of it. The endgame is fun with a good variety of things to do. Difficulty can be adjusted with no hassle and there is a hardcore option (which I wouldn't recommend on the first go as some parts of the game can be quite unforgiving, but to each their own). I found the tower defense mini-game that pops up from time to time in the single player campaign tremendously fun but it can be skipped if it's not your cup of tea. Other simple activities such as rebel army missions, trophy room and Chimera management can add something else fun and easy to do, but can be safely ignored if one prefers to focus on the action even during the campaign. (Don't mind the amount of in-game time listed by Steam as I often play offline and have spent dozens of hours first with the original game and then again with Final Cut.)

Does a great job of Capturing the spirit of pen-and-paper Shadowrun (and would stand as a very fun game regardless)!

Great tower defense + RPG. Prepare to enjoy spending a lot of time playing it.
