It's just kind of tedious.

Played on nightmare mode an there is no challenge. Most enemies are dead before they get a chance to do anything and it doesn't take long to get the overpowered weapons. Ammo is essentially infinite and areas are wide open, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. It's the same three levels on repeat and they get shorter each time. Repeating the exact same actions.

Story is kind of lacking. It's very much the bare minimum. There are a few moment were the enemy taunts you, which are actually decent. But all the other characters are shallow, stilted and barely even move. There was at least one line that made me laugh. It has few nods to the old game but I'd have liked to have had something more than background stuff. The ending was not worth it.

I appreciate they tried to go for a different style but I'm not exactly sure they pulled of the style/styles they were going for.

Overall this feels like the concept for a game that got rushed out, rather than a finished product.

Although it does have a damn good soundtrack.
