This game plays well, but feels like a half baked attempt at a full Halo game. You can't choose game modes and are stuck with whatever terrible game mode it chooses for you. 343 harps on player choice, customization, and freedom, but in the end is very restrictive, and you can't choose anything for yourself. Progression shouldn't be solely locked behind your payment information, I'd rather just pay for a full game that included these basic features from the start.

Does not follow Valve regional price for the base game or multiplayer, which makes the cost of in-game currency and cosmetics ridiculous. The predatory system in place is made just to make you populate their servers to grind all day or give up and spend.

Don't waste your money on cosmetics, simply play it for free and finish off the campaign on the game pass when it arrives.

On top of that, the game is packed with all manner of cosmetics that can be bought, from armour colour schemes, AI buddies, armour pieces, vehicle colour schemes, cosmetic effects (such as fire), and so on and so on and so on. It's clear that the store is going to be completely packed, and with a single armour bundle costing £16 / $20 (roughly double what it costs to have a full armour ornament set in Destiny 2), it's very clear that the game is free because it allows them to set these prices, rather than having these prices because the game is free.

While the game-to-game gunplay feels very crisp, and the classic utilitarian halo art style is back, the whole game has clearly been designed from the ground up to vacuum money out of players.

There is a battlepass system, but you don't even get experience towards it for completing matches. You *have* to complete daily/weekly challenges to get any experience, but even then that's only 100xp per completion, while even trying to get the first level up requires 1000xp. I played for roughly an hour and a half and wasn't able to get past a single level up.

If you're here for the gameplay, it's nice.

If you loved the customization of the old games, get ready to POUR out cash. Literally the worst battle pass I have ever seen. Sad to see Halo move this way.

The game is awesome, but the progression system really detracts from the experience, a damn shame. 343 needs to improve upon it

The gameplay is fun, but the fact that you can only get XP from challenges is a searious pain. If you're unlucky to get like 4 hard challenges, the only XP you can get is from dailies which means you will play like 30-40 matches for one level.

Firstly, I love the game. I also love the entire Halo series.

But this armor unlock system makes me so angry. It is so insanely bad and annoying. People are running around matches like chickens with their heads cut off, just trying to complete absolutely absurd pointless little tasks to get minimal amounts of xp so they can one day hope to get a new piece of armor.

Stop making people suffer to look cool with fresh armor. Add XP for normal play. Show us some respect.

the game is only fun when you have teammates that actually focus objective but ctf is so bad when you have teammates that dont get the flag the game is great but matchmaking not so much

This game is a blast to play at times there could be some bugs and server issues but this game is still fun when it works many would say its a pubg rip off but this is really different and it was originally a parody and to see how far it has come since then the game is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who likes the Battle Royale players it is or anyone who would like to get into Battle royal games.
