basically left 4 dead but u play as a party of fantasy heroes from a tabletop RPG with a fun warhammer backdrop, it's pretty sick. the mild monetization of the gameplay and the lootbox ♥♥♥♥ is annoying--in particular i don't like how overpriced the expansion dlcs are for how little content there seems to be in them--but you can mostly ignore it, especially if you're used to devs doing that kind of stuff cuz it's not TOO bad by those standards, especially since i don't think you can buy lootboxes directly? not sure
also some of the maps are REALLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PRETTY, particularly i'm thinking about the elven ruin in the forest, and the massive cavern with all the ruined underground architecture and the sun streaming down from various openings to the outside... honestly breathtaking.
the melee combat also has a pretty in-depth system, there's light attacks, heavy attacks, blocking, pushing, dodging back and side to side... yknow how in deep rock galactic's earlier difficulties it's really easy to ignore enemies but the harder ones make you actually start paying attention to and thinking about even the random little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nipping at your ankles? yeah, here, it's easy to neglect most of the melee mechanics at first, but once you move past the starter difficulty you start having to pay more attention to them, and that and all the different kinds of melee/ranged weapons you can get that serve different purposes and playstyles make the combat really fun
there's plenty more good to say about the game, most of the problems i have with it so far are just the monetization, but it's a pretty good time outside of that and i'd recommend giving it a try
though my view is definitely influenced by getting it when it was free-to-keep that one time a while back and deciding to finally try it when i got on a warhammer kick recently, i would probably be a lot less forgiving if i paid $30 for it, so i would say if you're interested get it on sale
oh one last thing: there's a playable sigmarist witch hunter who speaks like if skeletor had the speech patterns of a 40K space marine and he sucks. i love him

many squids are known to be highly social creatures, communicating messages to each other with complex, changing skin pigments in the depths of the ocean. and in the show, the characters form unlikely friendships, alliances, bonds with each other, because as the main character says, in their situation, they have no choice but to trust each other. otherwise, they don't stand a chance.
this game, on the other hand, has players who turn on each other in a heartbeat, and such anger-inducing gamemodes, such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moderation tools, and lobbies so toxic, you can't help but turn on all the people you're playing with yourself, becoming needlessly cruel and relentless towards all of them in your pursuit of victory.
like a crab in a bucket.

pros:
+ you get to support what pumpkin
+ you get to rip a sick bug-vape and engage in the single greatest bro-embrace of All TIme on the couch with your new moisturewave bro
+ cirava's moisturewave background music is sick as hell thanks to james roach's surprising amount of skill at vaporwave production

cons:
- some people think cirava's route is underwhelming but i still loved it
- amisia's route doesn't have a clear-cut "good ending" where everything turns out well for everyone and no lifelong slavery is involved
- the "lmao" quirk can be annoying at first but you'll get used to it
- amisia's background music, while well-made, got on my nerves a lot later on due to its repetitive nature

overall great experience. can't really go wrong with spending 99 cents on it, even if you're only in it for the amisia route.

i played it so i could delete sayori then i played hiveswap friendsim and now my entire steam recommendations are filled with anime garbage and furry visual novels
10/10 would split my soul between dan salvato Monika and andrew hussie again

*note: hiveswap friendsim is not a furry visual novel and doki doki was made to parody anime garbage

[edit: looking back over this, this entire thing might just be full of complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. i'm a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible critic. take this with something of a grain of salt.]

(note: my playtime is severely bloated because i unwittingly left the game open while doing other things.)

an entertaining excursion well worth the 99 cents. i thoroughly enojyed diemen's route, but ardata's felt a bit rushed and left something to be desired. nonetheless, i thought it was still quite enjoyable and well worth the time.
don't go into this expecting something as breathtakingly great as hiveswap act 1. the visuals and music are somewhat underwhelming, as others have mentioned, but ultimately you're getting a supplementary game that mainly serves to develop characters and tell some fun, small-scale stories at the same time. which i personally think it greatly succeeds in, especially on diemen's part. and considering that, the visuals and music don't really matter in the overall experience of the game.
for the price of an arizona can, you can't really go wrong here.

edit: this review's a little rough around the edges, mainly because i wrote it when i was stone cold exhausted at 4:00 am. let me just cut the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and get to the point this review makes that most others don't: late into the game, a lot of things in the environment seem to be despondent to use with most items. this may have been an issue exclusive to me somehow or it may have been changed since i finished my first playthrough, but it barely puts a damper on the experience, if at all. all the points that the other reviews have made are still completely valid, and this is a great game that you should buy nonetheless.

With Homestuck being the huge deal that it is, you can imagine that Andrew Hussie would see to it that the highly anticipated video game tie-in would be nothing short of exceptional. And by Jegus, after five long years of waiting and wondering, What Pumpkin finally delivered. With time constraints no longer being an issue due to not having to rush production or risk keeping eager readers waiting, almost every aspect of Hiveswap: Act 1 has been lovingly polished to a fine point, and it shows. The writing is hilarious and filled with references for fans of Homestuck to ravish in, the art manages to establish a beautiful, hand-drawn style that builds upon the classic look of MSPA perfectly, the soundtrack is composed by the two incredible musicians James Roach and Toby Fox -- the latter of whom is responsible for the infamously popular game Undertale and its own soundtrack, as well as being a highly respected member of the Homestuck music team for much of the comic's run, and while the gameplay isn't much to write home about, it does go above and beyond what is usually expected of a point-and-click adventure game by having almost (we'll get to that) every item available in the game usable on any object encountered by the player and not containing any of those overly-obtuse ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ puzzles that point-and-click games seem to love so much. I managed to stump myself on what to do next at a few moments in the game, but that was mainly due to the fact that I either wasn't paying enough attention, I was overlooking something obvious, or am just incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at solving puzzles. If you manage to get similarly stumped, fear not, because there is an incredibly helpful spoiler-free guide available among the community guides at the moment that should be able to help you with whatever problems you may run into, but I'd recommend that you only do this if absolutely necessary. My only remote gripe about the game is that late into it, a lot of the items seem to not render any output when used with most things, which was very disappointing to me as someone who spent at least an hour or two in Joey's bedroom alone. This issue could have been addressed since I last played it, but I highly doubt it, and it's really more of a nitpick than anything else. Outside of that, the game is absolutely and undilutedly brilliant and I'd highly recommend it to any fan of adventure games and/or Homestuck.

Bejeweled 3 is a good game. It's a simple match-three game with four modes to play, each with slightly different mechanics, as well as four more "secret" modes you can unlock to liven things up. The only downside is that it's difficult to put it down, especially the Zen mode. Overall, I'd highly recommend it.
