I like everything about this game - story, characters, music, gameplay, and even the price.

This was a really good game! It was a bit harder than most metroidvanias in the standard difficulty I chose; probably because you are expected to parry in this game. The soundtrack was good, I liked the combat, and the story was great too. The characters were unique and I liked learning about all of them. I liked how complex Yi (main character) and his past is. I didn't have any issues running the game.

It's hard to think of things that I'd prefer different. One thing is that you get to read a lot of lore documents right by the end, and I wish that lore was more gradual throughout the game instead. Also, the final boss felt significantly harder than anything before it... I guess final bosses are supposed to be harder, but it was like 4x harder than any boss before it.

I'd give this game a 9 or 10 out of 10.

This was a good game in the past, but I don't have confidence in its future. The developer (GGG) has decided to promote cheating.

Each season, there is a ranked league in which many people compete to as high of level as they can as fast as they can. Some of the league types allow you to trade with other players. There are queues at as soon as the season is launched. This particular season, GGG has decided to allow select streamers to skip the queue. Everyone is getting disconnected every few minutes, but the rest of us have to wait several minutes in queue while streamers login again in about a second. They are reaching endgame while others are barely able to get out of the first zone. I do not understand the point of having a ranked league if a select class of people are allowed to get a massive snowballing unfair advantage in levels and the market by design. Non-streamers are treated like second class players, even though many of us have been playing the game and contributing money to it since early on.

GGG has made an apology post that doesn't make sense. They write that they thought allowing cheating was a good idea because they thought they were "offering viewers something to watch while they waited". I'm not grateful for the opportunity to watch someone else cheat. They don't address the idea of a league reset so that we can all compete fairly. They don't address whether any streamers have previously or are currently receiving any other unfair advantages in live leagues - such as better loot drops. They should address whether any players receive any kind of intentional unfair advantage in live leagues and make it part of their official policy that they don't.

This is in fact, less fair than pay to win. In pay to win at least the criteria for receiving an advantage is clear and consistent to everyone. Here they are advantaging specific streamers that they like and will praise them.

There has been some backlash to streamers also, but some of it is deserved; anyone who is aware they are receiving an unfair advantage in a ranked league and doesn't ask for it to be removed+league reset is complicit in cheating.

The only thing that would salvage this blunder right now is if they further commit to resetting the league, and make it their official policy to never intentionally give advantage to any specific player in a live league.

I enjoy everything about this game. I like the gameplay, the music, the characters, the challenge... It makes sense that they say say it's inspired by CAVE/Raizing games.

Best game I've played in a year or maybe more. This what good games are supposed to be like, you don't need 10000000 polygons. Great soundtrack, story, and gameplay. All you need.
