It's best to play with friends. Forming a random crew, like most games, can lead to frustration. It's also worth going in with a person who knows the game already. It's not the worst learning curve, but there is one.

It's cryptic and replayable. Try out some mods; at least so you can learn the wands and perks. The more you play it, the more you'll understand how to beat it.

Its good. You see all the positive reviews. You've seen Johnathan Helldiver at the Game Awards. Do it.

You can expect some lackluster creature designs, AI music, and a standard story. Sometimes it's easier to kill yourself and make a new map.

The atmosphere, procedural level generation, and the challenge of learning the game/npc's made it worth the money. They did a great job with The Poolrooms. Really like the choices they made with the interior geometry. There's something here with the gameplay and atmosphere. They just need to keep refining.

This game was so good, I had to talk to my therapist about how it affected me.

But seriously, don't sleep on this game. Great characters, great voice acting, and has a perfect run time. It's meant to be played at least twice.

This game has always been janky. Even with the new updates and the switch to V1.0, you'll still run into issues. Some of the traders have worse audio recordings after the update, water will not be coming out of pipes correctly, and it'll still rain indoors.

THAT BEING SAID, I highly recommend this game to those that want a solid survival and crafting experience. Also very good for casual online play with 1-2 friends. I've been playing the game since it was available on the PS4, and I give credit to the devs for how much progress they've made.
