It's a good game, just didn't like it. Can't really recommend in good faith to anyone, even tho I recognise its a good game.

It's not a "return to form" in any shape or form
It's an RPG without Roleplaying
Combat is horribly spongy
No dialogue option besides being polite, polite with a joke, or polite direct to the point
No option to refuse companions or cast them off so far
A Dragon Age game without any of elements that made Dragon Age be Dragon Age

Would be an ok title if it wasn't slapped with the Dragon Age brand, but it is slapped with it.

DLC is great, adequate difficulty.
Performance has it's problems at times, but it's an enjoyable experience and another great work by FromSoftware

It's not a bad game, it just.... didn't vibe with me like 1 did. I've refunded the game knowing that.
The game itself looks good, tho I hated the starter weapon.

Edit: after playing a bit more, it get's worse by the hour.

After waiting for almost 12 years, this does disappoint.
Troops that teleport from Russia to fight a war in Argentina, combat works around a WW1 formula of frontlines and the defensive side will always win unless you have superior numbers as attacker.
The nations have no special mechanics, no civilized and uncivilized, just different amounts of mana.
As a democracy, you can go, select a textile factory in Sardinia and force them to produce the goods with a certain tech, in a certain way.
Just download and play GFM, or HPM, or really any mod for Victoria II.
It isn't a really bad game, but it's a bad successor to Victoria II.

In my run, was the story of love and emotional sacrifice that outlasted every difficulty it faced, till the very sweet end.
