It helps scratch the itch for Dungeons & Dragons in between real sessions.

Early Access Review
This is one of my favorite Next Fest games ever. I spent nearly three hours just playing the demo. I'll probably update this review once I get a decent amount of time into the game proper.

A combination top-down shooter/hacking game, I think it has the best hacking system I've ever seen in any video game. As you play you gain access to upgrades and new abilities that can alter your play style, such as camouflage or the ability to teleport to the thing you're currently hacked into. It's one of those games that looks visually simple but has the capability for incredible depth in gameplay, and rewards players who think outside the box.
I like how much typing is involved, the fact that there's often a sense of urgency to it, and the fact that the game isn't only typing/hacking either. If you've ever used any kind of terminal environment, I think you'll feel comfortable with it.

I once saw someone describe the game as "EYE mixed with Caves of Qud mixed with Heat Signature mixed with Quadrilateral Cowboy."

Call of Duty, Halo, and Mirror's Edge had a baby, and it's better than all three of them.
The developers did a fantastic job of making both pilot and titan satisfying to play. The titan feels powerful without being invincible, and the pilot feels small without being helpless. The parkour and grapple swinging mechanics make you feel like Spider Man with a gun and a giant mech.
The devs' attention to detail and care for immersion really shines, as well. The mechs actually feel big and heavy, the titan AI talks to you and gives you relevant tactical recommendations during battle, the grapple hook rope actually collides with the environment instead of being purely decorative. When a matchmaking game ends it doesn't just cut to black, there's an epilogue sequence where the losing team gets one last life to attempt to retreat to a ship and escape the map.
The game oozes soul, and it's just damn fun.

I haven't played this in a long while, but from what I remember, it was unique in that it managed to be a "comfy" metroidvania, owing mostly to it's incredible atmosphere. Though, it did tend to get tense during the boss battles. It had a wide variety of creative and uniquely useful power-ups, and the art is beautifully done. I consider this game to be quite a hidden gem.
