I tried this version of Borderlands on release and again just recently (in 2024). Multiplayer for this game was ridiculously buggy on launch and none of those bugs have been fixed in the years since. The biggest issue is that if you're not the host, quest markers are totally messed up and show at the wrong times/in the wrong places, so all you can do is follow the host around. But there are also a ton of other annoying issues, including unwanted custom waypoints randomly showing up on the map, mic settings not sticking (+ push to talk just doesn't work), and getting soft-locked on certain quests when the objective just doesn't show up until after you reload. It sucks because the new QoL features, like the minimap and consumable sharing and auto-pick up, are pretty nice. But the game is just so buggy that I think the original version is probably still a better experience.

It's like a harder and more fun version of charades or Pictionary- excellent if you have friends to play with, probably not so great with randos since so much communication is required. Implementation is good, the UI is easy to use and the rules match the physical card game. No problems with connection either. A great addition would be Steam Workshop support for custom psychic and vision cards. You see the same cards a lot, which isn't really a problem with this kind of game, but a greater variety would be even more fun.

Very good- better than the 'Question Arcs' in my opinion. I like how all of the main plot points are resolved, but the game doesn't straight-up tell you all the little details- those are for you to notice + figure out on your own. Not too much to say except you have to play this if you've played the first part.

A hidden gem- more people should be talking about this VN than they are, I really recommend it for fans of mysteries and plot twists. If you like the SciADV or When They Cry games, you will like this. Lots of dramatic situations in Route A, it's like an action movie. Route B has a slice-of-life style but the unsettling atmosphere makes it interesting. Routes C and D are when you start to understand how deep the story goes and it's awesome, every time you think you know everything now, you learn something else and your perspective on what you've already seen is shifted again.

The numerical choices system can be a little frustrating and is probably the worst part of the game. Frequently the MC ended up saying exactly the opposite of what I intended. However, route A is the worst for this, it actually gets easier to deal with later on- not sure if I just got used to it over time. Due to the number of endings and possible choices, you should absolutely use a guide after your first time through the game and hit all of the major endings at least.

Also, the Extend episodes are not super good. 80+% of it is stuff that's already in the game and the skip button doesn't work for them. The new parts I read were somewhat interesting but it's just so annoying to figure out which parts are new. I read that these parts were actually cut content from when they remade the game, and imo they should've just left them in.

Overall, a really fun VN with a crazy plot, likeable characters, and good voice acting! Definitely worth the read!

A very chill and relaxing game! Lots of attention was put into the artwork for the props, I love how detailed it is with all of the different books and video game boxes. A joy to look at. Also, the gameplay mechanics are very well-implemented and feel natural, with the ability to move stacks of items annd slot books/hangers in between each other. The achievements are fun too. Recommended for a cozy weekend!

This is a visual novel with an incredible story, very well-written and realistic characters, and great (Japanese) voice acting- definitely worth playing if you're a fan of this kind of 'game' at all, though I would say it probably shouldn't be the first one you ever play. It has a really slow start, but gets interesting halfway through the first chapter, and then REALLY interesting halfway through the second chapter and stays that way through the end. So hang in there if you find yourself getting bored with all the slice-of-life stuff in the beginning.

Unfortunately this VN also has a lot of issues that detract from the experience- you definitely need to play with mods, the game is nigh impossible to play without them if you care about visuals/UI at all. With mods, the artwork looks a lot better and having dialogue boxes improves the reading experience a lot imo. Unfortunately, the auto mode and backlog features suck in this game, they exist but are annoying to use. Also, the writing and translation can be a bit janky and unnatural, but you get used to it after a while.

Try not to be turned off by these issues though (also don't be turned off by the cringey sex jokes, it lessens a lot as the game goes on)- it's probably one of the best visual novels I've ever read and well worth pushing through. And be sure to play the second game for a complete experience as nothing is resolved in this one lol.

A nice, though very short, game with a lot of charm. It's nothing groundbreaking in terms of gameplay or story, but it was a fun and relaxing way to spend two hours. I really liked the artwork, music, and general aesthetic. There were some minor issues that would improve the experience if fixed- the controls are a little finicky sometimes (too easy to accidentally put down an object without wanting to) and the voice acting volume is not balanced well between the characters. Overall, I think this is worth getting especially on sale, but I do think it's worth the full price as well especially if you're into more 'experience-based' games.

Definitely don't skip this game! It's totally underrated and very, very good. Actually, it's one of the best visual novels I've ever played. No joke. It's up there with games like Zero Escape, Steins;Gate, Danganronpa, etc. If you like those games, you'll love this.

The most incredible thing is the choice system + branching paths. This is the only branching-paths style VN I've ever played where your choices actually affect the story in all branches at once and it's implemented amazingly well. I don't want to say too much about the actual story because it's best played completely blind, but imo it's great. Heartwarming, suspenseful, hilarious, with awesome and very likeable protagonists, and full of mystery and plot twists.

The only thing that's a bit annoying is that the UI is a bit dated, would've been nice to have a better skip system. Also, considering the visuals are photos I'm really surprised that there's no voice acting. Still great without it though!

I don't know which one came first, but this game is basically exactly the same as Pictopix with all the same game modes too. Or maybe they're both copies of another older Picross game, idk. Very good implementation though. I particularly liked the cute tutorial character and the very satisfying sound effects when you fill in squares.

I only have a few complaints- 1) levels are not big/hard enough, the only challenging ones are in the time challenge mode, 2) the auto greying-out function isn't very good, it doesn't have the capability to grey anything out unless you put X's around the section and the X's extend to the end of the grid (not typical for Picross games), and 3) could use some more mosaics, there are only 2.

Despite those small issues, this is a solid game with accurate puzzles, nice visuals/effects, good UI, and chill music. Definitely recommended for Picross fans.

No, it's not as good as Steins;Gate, but I still enjoyed it. The new characters are actually all very likeable and I enjoyed seeing them interact with the old characters. There are some very emotional moments between characters in this game that are just as good as the ones in the first game. The main issue is that the story is very disjointed and seems a bit aimless at times, parts of it will really make you say, "Why is this in the game???" If you find it annoying, I'd recommend watching the Steins;Gate 0 anime instead- this is actually one game where I think the anime is better, as it cuts out a lot of the fluff and attempts to tie things to the first game/anime better. But worth playing imo if you don't mind some slice-of-life and craziness.
