33 hours in, this game is such a breath of fresh air in the current gaming landscape, and definitely deserves your money. Overall art direction, soundtrack, voice acting, visuals & storytelling are amazing. Combat may be subjective depending on whether you enjoy parry / dodge mechanics in a turn-based game (which I do). There are a few minor issues like lip sync being off at times and the occasional crash, but it more than makes up for it. Support these devs - we need more like this :)

EDIT: Completed the main story. Really close to being perfect, easy GOTY.

Graphics are gorgeous, combat is very satisfying with the right difficulty and story is quite decent though it could've been longer. Most fun part were the lightsaber duels with soulslike mechanics (though not quite as difficult/punishing) which really do make you feel like a Jedi master. Downsides are some small stuttering issues, but mostly not having any form of fast travel between save points was annoying since it made backtracking tedious, especially so with the map layouts being kinda confusing at times. Overall still a pretty fun time 8.5/10

"It's just a game" they said.
The NieR games are probably one of the best examples of games as art.
Only downside is Route B could've been done a bit better.

Game is one hell of a feels train but is not without its issues.

PROS:
- Amazing soundtrack
- Characters you care about
- Much feels, many emotion
- Leads you down the crazy rabbit hole that is the Drakengard/NieR universe

CONS:
- Being an old game, some aspects of game play/design is kinda dated (Ending C feels tedious and repetitive)
- Most side quests are inconsequential, some have nice stories or world-building
- Not all details of the story/lore is present in game, external reading required to fully appreciate

I'd say combat and graphics are neither a pro nor con, they are both alright but nothing fantastic. Overall, the game ends on a nice and satisfying note with Ending E, which is undoubtedly the best ending and leads into Nier: Automata. However, it's normal for the game to feel a little draggy in the middle, especially for Ending C. Definitely a must-play if you ever intend to play NieR: Automata.

Overall Rating: 8 / 10

Some advice:
- IMO it's best played on gamepad/controller instead of kb+m
- Do NOT read the achievements page, it contains spoilers
- Skip most side quests except the recommended ones (Just Google which are the best ones but be careful of spoilers)
