Early Access Review
This game is incredibly polished so far. The general progression mirrors Dead Cells, which is a good thing. The combat and movement mirrors Dead Cells, which is a great thing. It basically takes Dead Cells, adds a new look and some extra bits of sugar on top like coop and map design.

The pace is fast and fun, and it's fun discovering different item combos to progress with. The use of altitude and gaps in environments adds both a strategy and bit of fun to navigating and fighting.

In spite of the warning on the main menu that controller is the preferred way to play, the keyboard and mouse controls are smooth and easy to use. I appreciate this because sometimes you just want to give the controller a rest.

Absolutely stoked to see the shape this game is already in, since it means the release is going to be that much better.

Excellent game all the way through. Scratched the same itch that Outer Wilds did for me. I went into this blind, as many suggested, and I would recommend you do the same if you are reading this.

The use of music was excellent, the story was compelling and fun to figure out, and solving the mysteries using the multitude of clues provided was a ton of fun. Traveling in and out of memories could be a little irritating, but not too bad if you use the markers on the map for each chapter.

I am a big fan of Ender Lilies, and I am not disappointed at all with this sequel. Captures all the charm of the first game with more polish. Beautiful worlds and soundtrack, tons to explore, excellent combat and variety. A solid pick-up.

Heck of a lot of fun so far. Feels like a Hades type game but you can do it coop. Surprising amount of story and dialogue, in a good way. Upgrades and combat feel fun, the coop is done well. A bit rough around the edges in some of the menus and UI, but still very happy with the purchase so far.

Requires Ubisoft Connect app. Steam family sharing will not work. What a bad way to package a game.

EDIT:
To the developer who thought that reply was useful:

How about you take family sharing off of the store page instead of hiding an announcement on the Steam forums? No one checks the forums to see if the information listed on the store page is accurate before making a purchase. The store page still shows Family Sharing.

The fact you felt this is an adequate response to my review is wild. The only upside is I didn't need to run Ubisoft Connect to read and reply.

An enjoyable and very fun newcomer to the genre that I thoroughly enjoyed. Might be tough if this is your first Metroidvania, as it leans on platforming and pogoing which I think give some people difficulty. That said, I really loved how you can reset your jump simply hitting an object from any direction, allowing some really high amounts of aerial play. The world is beautifully drawn and crafted, and the characters all had unique personalities and I found them charming. The map is expansive and fun to explore, but the game generously gives you fast travel pretty early to make that a bit easier on you. The music is beautiful and the boss fights are challenging enough to force you to tighten up skills and mechanics that you will need as you progress through the game.

This game scratched my Hollow Knight itch and I've really enjoyed my time with it. I'm not sure of what the future plans are for the game, but I hope we get more content!

My wife played the game on my account, so she can't leave a review on her side. I'm pasting her review below:

Don't listen to anyone not recommending this game, unless you suck at platformers/Metroidvanias. If that's the case, then stay away and don't ruin it for everyone else by whining to the developers about how difficult you find it, or leaving an unfounded negative review.

With that being said, beautiful game, interesting fights, nice homage to Hollow Knight. Also has a strong Aeterna Noctis vibe with a lot of the mechanics and obstacles.

I just wish it were longer, and am hoping they're still able to add more content down the road, despite what's going on with Humble.

I can't believe how fun this game is. A goofy sense of humor, excellent artwork, lovely music, awesome environments to explore, it's great. They organically continue to introduce more and more things in a gradual way to make each new trip into the blue hole that much more fun. Absolute banger of a game.

Solid DLC that feels even more impactful than the first. A ton of fun and would highly recommend this, in addition to the base game.

The people that are crying about "nerfs" are focusing on 3 adjustments that were necessary to make other builds competitive. Those builds that were "nerfed" are also still incredibly strong. These are players that have absolutely no creativity and couldn't figure out some reasonable alternatives to their copy/paste youtube build guides, so they cry here instead. There are already loads of DoT focused builds (the supposed nerfed class), and Ritualist with the new Invoker archetype is still stupid strong.

This DLC is worth every penny. I get that some people are mad that there wasn't a totally new biome, but I really like the way they incorporated the DLC. Instead of being a linear "this zone is DLC only" they instead had the DLC enhance the base game. They added a new zone and starting point in Losemn that you can randomly roll, just like every other zone in the base game. They also added a "one shot" feature for the new zone where you can roll all of the new items on the first try without worrying about the RNG that comes with the way the game typically works. The zone itself has many new items and some new dungeons. Additionally, there are several new items and drops that the DLC sprinkles into the areas provided by the base game. I really appreciated this approach to the DLC, as it allows non-DLC players to still join the lobbies of hosts who have the DLC. It also adds more replayability to the base game content.

The game itself is worth every penny, and the DLC makes it worth more pennies. Strong recommend.

Updating the review after the DLC, still hooked and still loving it. Highly recommend this game for everyone that wants a charming city builder that adds some roguelike aspects through puzzles and exploration.
----------------------------------------
This game was a charming surprise for me. I've liked RTS and citybuilder games previously, but really gotten into roguelikes a lot more. So the concept of a citybuilder and roguelite mix seemed intriguing. I dove into it and the tutorial was pretty nice to give the basics, but I still felt a bit out of my depth. But I found the environment beautiful, the gameplay calming, and just found myself going out to make more settlements. Opening unexplored glades and unearthing mysteries to claim and enrich your settlement is surprisingly fun. I now find myself just opening this game up as a nightcap or to unwind after a day of coding. I'd highly recommend this game.
