Early Access Review
Initially, I was excited and hopeful about seeing Ready or Not come to fruition, as they nailed the marketing process. And after seeing the PvP build that went live a year or two ago, I started to lose hope with this game; yet one of my buddies who was close with the devs insisted that the game would turn out wonderfully. He was right.

Ready or Not (as of 12/24/21) is on of the best experiences I've had in a tactical shooter setting. On the surface level, it's one of the most optimized games I have seen release all year (let alone being in early access) and shows that VOID know what they want from their game. The gun-play is phenomenal, every shot feels smooth but punchy. In it's current state, there feels like a small lack of customization in the realm of gear and some firearms that just haven't been implemented from previous builds, but that will of-course sort itself out in the coming updates next year. The arsenal however feels very plentiful and has a nice collection of rifles, sidearms, shotguns, and gadgets to relive SWAT 4 with. The interactions with the AI are also quite fleshed out, with all the combinations of grenades and breaching systems available to call on your teammates with. As it stands though, the AI friendlies seem somewhat under-powered and dumb at times, while the default enemy AI appears to have instant tracking on targets and can start engaging in the blink of an eye (scary ♥♥♥♥). This brings me to another positive of this game; the modding scene. Even in early access, Ready or Not already has some modding support. Including various AI overhauls, and weapon and gear re-skins and replacements. To go with this, VOID has also stated their stance on modding, and will eventually release and SDK to support the community's endeavors with adding custom maps and new items to the arsenal. Before i conclude, I feel as if I have to commemorate VOID on their sound design, which is probably the best sounds I've heard in a shooter in what feels like years.

All in all, I'm personally very happy and exhilarated about this game, and not having to worry about super closed doors, or development hell anymore. Thanks VOID!

Every game is lovingly ported to PC, and i love it. How can you go wrong with Halo.
