I bought and played all Rimworld DLCs and they usually range from good to great. But this one absolutely sucks ass.
I play merciless and commitment mode and some events are just colony-ending with very little counter-play.

Got nociosphere in the early-mid game and it started destabilizing? Well too bad, you better get a raid right now. Yeah you read that right, getting raided (and not just raided, you need to get massively raided) is the only thing that helps. Just get raided 4Head.
The only alternative is to know some cheesy counterplay from Rimworld wiki, or else you're absolutely done with zero chances.

Or maybe you prefer metalhorror ? Silently infests one (or more!) of your colonists and then emerges of their body, damaging them in process. Even discovering that you have it is not that easy. And then just one of those took down 3 of my colonists AFTER emerging like it's nothing. Took more damage than a centipede.

Maybe Unnatural Darkness? Don't have every single important part of your base lit? You're in for a treat. Just put torches everywhere???!!! Ah yeah, why didn't I think about it on my ice sheet run?

And I'm not even talking about pure cancer events like Revenant here. Every single one of them is designed to end your run, unless you already know the workaround and prepared for it in advance. When a mech cluster drops on top of my base, I can at least try and bruteforce it. Here, nothing.

You might say, well you probably have a lot of wealth to get all those events? At the moment of writing the review, I have 5 colonists and 36k, only 16k more than starting wealth (crashlanded).
