Early Access Review
Somehow, even in Early Access, Supergiant has managed to surpass the original Hades (one of my top 5 favorite games of all-time) with a genuinely worthy sequel. Everything great about the first game has been expanded and each new addition adds depth to an already fun gameplay loop + sandbox.

I bought this for my partner, proceeded to log 50 hours on her account before watching her become obsessed and log 100 more. Eventually needed to buy it on my own account so we could both play simultaneously (then downloaded it on my Xbox via Game Pass), where I've logged a shorter amount of time so far but continue to love everything about the game.

From the beautiful art style and exceptional audio/music design to the satisfying combat loop, with engaging build potential + boon synergies to explore over time. None of that even touches on the storyline, which makes this roguelike pop like no other I've played. It's the only game in the genre that had me playing through runs, already thinking about what I would upgrade or unlock when it was over.

Whether I made it to the end and progressed the main story, or died and went back to retool and try again, it was always rewarding and fun to do. Hades is easily one of my top five favorite games of all-time.

If you're looking for some of the best FPS gunplay and plenty of opportunities to find powerful loot, you can't go wrong with Destiny 2. I've put in hundreds of hours in this game, across three platforms, because it continues to be a well-oiled machine of a gaming experience (okay, most of the time, if you count the occasional bug). The environments are rich and detailed with exceptional skyboxes, the music is top-notch, and the end-game activities are some of the most challenging fun I've had in an FPS, period.

You've got nothing to lose by jumping in for free and seeing if this world is meant for you. If it is, odds are that you'll have just as much fun and likely find others to tackle the toughest challenges with. So go on and be brave, fellow guardian!
