I love democracy

I've played for an hour, made it pass the first boss and there's really nothing interesting or engaging to keep me going forward. In my humble opinion it's a mid try at the genre. 'Not bad, not great', as a certain engineer said.

Movement is not precise. You slide whenever you want to stop or change direction you're running so you have to adjust your actions to that, jumping feels stiff, wall jumping is kind of automatic, there is not that much control over it. Animations doesn't quite sync with your movement. Levels are poorly designed and there's small selection of enemies to fight and ways to fight them. The first boss wasnt's a challange at all.

The artstyle itself is really nice but the world feels empty and lifeless, not interesting. The font choice is an odd one too and some sound effects are right out annoying, especially the death screen one.
There's a story but it feels shallow and just for the sake of being there. It wasn't presented in an interesting way.

I don't remember how I got the game, but I'd suggest just getting it on sale and trying it out for yourself.

Finished it yesterday. For almost ten years old game it holds up pretty well. Both in terms of graphics and gameplay. Great art style and general vibe too. Get it and play it.
