I was surprised that this game did run without any issues on ultra, but constantly crashes. I've closed my msi afterburner that I usually use, but game keep crashing randomly and withoud any lags anyway. I set everything on hight from ultra, but it just keep crashing...
The only positive thing that I could say about this game that is started to crash immediately and I have an opportunity to refund it.
(will delete or change my review if I will find a stable set up)

Great writing. I've recently played a bunch of comedy games and nothing got me like jokes in The Ditty of Carmeana. It's not bad as a puzzle/quest game either. Nothing really hard, but it kept me engaged the whole time. Nice and short expirience which left you with a feeling of wanting more. If you gonna play it don't miss on Murder Mystery Sidequest!

I wanted to give this game a positive review so much. Artstyle and animations are outstanding and they almost carried this expirience for me. Cris Tales could've been a beautiful short experience, but this game stretches every of it's limited resources until all fun is gone.

Cris Tales makes you bactrack an every region three times IN A ROW before final boss. World is pretty small in this game, but that doesn't mean that backtracking it three times is fun. I hate set assumption in gaming that a leigh of a game that lesser than 8-10 hours is a flaw. It felt like some developers stretch out their games just because of that. Cris Tales has a small variety of enemies, small cast of characters, detailed animations, complete voice over and a small world map which all begging for a short playtime.

Towards the end I still wanted to give this game a positive review, with an asterisk that it's a heavily flawed, but beatiful game with a nice characters. It was already stretched out, felt unpolished at parts, but on top of it game adds 4 dungeouns with teleportation mazes and only half of this dungeons doesen't reuse a previous boss at the end. That was a metaphorical straw that broke the camel's back of my enjoyment of this game.

If you liked artstyle and decided to play this game just feel free to drop it at any point when you stopped being amused by a vibrant picture on your screen. Ending doesen't worth it and a last act of the game felt like a chore.

BTW I guess stockholm syndrome forced me to try colosseum. That mode was a dissapointing rehash of existing enemies, backgrounds and bosses, including a final boss from a main story on level 30. Imagine how anticlimactic would be beating a final boss after you just beaten him in colosseum with no dialogues or plot. Also because of critical/parry mechanics animations in this game takes alot of time and colosseum run took me 2-3 hours depending on my level.

This is a review on a game and not a steam version in particular because the steam version is an unplayable garbage and I've finished this game on the epic store version.
Gameplay may catch your attention if you like turn based games and tacticals like Jagged Alliance, but be wary because this game is just a mess and the deepest mechanic related to tactics here is an overwatch.
You spent more than half of the game with close ranged and light guns and in the last third you'll get the rest of the arsenal with a neckbreaking phase. In the last quarter of the game pretty much everything except energy weapons would be useless. You need to grind random encounters which was never a thing in fallout. Missions with vehicles was a chore instead of an interesting addition to the series. Lack of barter between characters in your squad and terrible handling of any ladder by AI is annoying. And don't even get me started on gamebreacking glitches like endless PC turns upon revisiting areas with enemies or straight up non working escape grids on easter egg encounters. You may need to start over the whole game depending on how you use your save slots if you get one of these bugs

Very interesting project for single indie developer. For me personally it was a disappointing expirience. I was expecting this game to be a dungeon crawler with quest elements, but it's just a quest. There's no grind and few enemies overall. There's basically no gameplay loop - you just solving puzzles in order until dissapointing endings and battle system felt like an afterthought.

It's borderland experimental and it's fine. More fun than tons of indistinguishable trash

That's kinda funny to see projects like this and Alterverse (both changed names btw) began all the way back in Steam Greenlight and got a second wind after Metaverse/AI bubbles. Huh at least grift like that still alive compared to ambitious projects like Life of Rome
