I'm annoyed i didn't hear about this earlier. Its looks great, plays great and is perfect for a quick game and competitive enough to be fun. The Finals along with Chivalry 2's FFA mode give me great gaming pleasure after a long day at work.

I was hoping this would be a little easier to get into after the nightmare of Squad and its community. And it is in some sense, the community are far nicer, far helpful and more forgiving than the milsim nerds over in Squad. However you really need that community as there is no assistance , training, anything. Visibility is poor, i was killed constantly never knowing where from or never even seeing a enemy.

Early Access Review
Great sound, visuals are good. Great potential, needs optimizing, frames drop significantly in fire fights. I like it, interested to see where they take it.

EDIT *Peakers Paradise* If you like peaking ala Siege, you'll enjoy this **
The maps need refining , they are sprawling warrens , needlessly complicated with no direction for attack or defence. While the sound design is super of weapons and explosions, the footsteps needs work and is very poor sound effect.

After a miserable few hours in Squad with an arrogant bunch of neck beards playing army (deeply unpleasant experience) i thought i'd give this a try. Its a quality shooter, great fun with superb visuals and sound, well paced mix of tactical and action. Easy to get into with depth. Worth the money , looking forward to where this goes.

Horrible game, full of arrogant unhelpful people. Egomaniacs
Graphics are Day Of Defeat quality.
The maps are hard to read, very busy full of icons it's hard to see your own location and understand whats going on and which direction you are facing.
Walk and walk and walk and walk simulator.
Squads get locked with 2 neck beards, or kick you if you try to join.
Menus are confusing, poorly laid out.
Very unwelcoming unpleasant experience full of nerds playing war games.
Sound design is excellent.
Maybe worth £12 when on sale not £39.99.

Edit - Insurgency Sandstorm scratched my online fps itch.

Its a weird mix of game styles with such a lot going on. Played around 3 hours , didn't meet many other players , just PvE mainly which i don't enjoy.
While Queuing up to play , others will abandon you due to your low player level. The engine, while pretty is showing its age with janky animations, the sound design while excellent is a little over the top and in your face.
The menus are hard to navigate, much of it doesn't make sense. Going to have to request a refund for this which is disappointing having wanted to play it for a long time.
Certainly not worth full asking price

As a Middle aged gamer it took me a while to get into to this. After years of playing BF, CS:GO , Siege i first struggled to get the 3rd person view, it was also hard and just seemed a lonely running simualtor.

But i've persisted and found most pleasure playing in squads, team play. The game comes into its own then, with microphones and headsets its great fun, especially when with those who speak English or your own native tongue.
I've grown to love Solo play which is now fun and very tense .

My main issue is the Chinese players which is twofold, the first is more annoying and not game breaking, they flood the EU servers and spam the Lobby mics with weird Chinese speeches & adverts , easy enough to live with and mute i guess.

What isn't easy to deal with is the biggest grief of all ,Teamkilling. They teamkill for loot and for fun. You may spend a good deal of time exploring and looting with your squad only for one or more to shoot you in the head, run you over or bully you in broken english etc etc. No warning, no arguments just death. I played most of saturday afternoon, 3 games in a row. Either i or my team mates were Tkilled by rogue Chinese teammates . Yes we can report them , but does anything get done? It needs a region lock or more robust system for Teamkilling.

Its runs great on my mid range rig. I5 3570K @ 4Ghz, 16GB RAM, RX480 8GB and SSD. No issues at all.

A great game which i'm sure will spawn a thousand duplicates in the future and some which may well be better games.
