Early Access Review
People when their Early Access game released 10 hours ago isn't perfect and has bugs: 😭😭😭😡😡👎👎👎
I mean what did you expect? The game still has to hatch, of course there are bugs! Of course there is server instability because of many people playing day one. Be positive and give them the time to fix. These kind of games always needed time to be stable on most PC hardwares, it happened with DJMAX Respect V, it happened with EZ2ON Reboot R, and it will happen again. Give them a few weeks, things will get better.

Aside from this, this is the first time I ever play a Pump It Up game officially. There are no arcade machines near me, I always wanted to experience the game but I couldn't so far, because of this I always hoped for a steam release of it, and I'm glad this happened today!

The game follows the "Respect" formula, and it aims to be a huge archive of original PIU songs from all eras, as well as current arcade edition songs and new song/dlc/collabs content in the future. There are (and there will be) collectibles such as skins and plates, which I really appreciate and it makes me motivated to play more and get everything

The premises are great! I loved that they remastered older BGAs. I will really look forward to what the game will offer! I wish the team the best of luck for the development of this and the arcade side of the game and I hope for a huge game support with good contents in the many years to come

I will edit this review with my final thoughts after Early Access ends

So far, both V Liberty 1 and 2 became some of my fave DLCs in this game. The quality is outstanding.

No other rhythm game have ever reached this quality of visuals for BGAs yet. And the tracklist is full of bangers. There's also variety in music genres which I really appreciate.

My only small complaint, is that lately there are way too much songs focused on the main cast (like clear and fail). I can see about 3 songs per DLC, but this one has EIGHT out of 20 songs dedicated on the main cast. It's a bit too much.

Also considering it is a trend since V extension 5 to include way to many sequels or lore songs. I'm kinda worried that future DLC may still be this much of lore content, or even increasing to easily get more views/traction

I've been following the development of this game for years. When it finally came out I bought it day one!
It didn't disappoint at all! This games has a lot of pros (I probably can't even list them all, so I suggest to try the game yourself).

What I really loved the most is the variety on worlds and levels, with many different scenarios!
On top of that each world has dozens of different characters with unique design and personality, those can be either playable, interactive NPCs, enemies and bosses. There is even an encyclopedia to keep track of how many you have found! And trust me they are a lot! Hundreds of them!

The game difficulty feels balanced, and you really are motivated to unlock or find each secrets to improve your stats, health bar, collect weapons, abilities and so on!

This game is a Gem

A really polished, good looking but small platformer!
I love how smooth the experience feels. Also I really love both level design and assets design.
Each level is different! You kinda want to see every time what's gonna happen in the next one!

I know the creator is working on a sequel, I really hope they maintain the quality of this one! Looking forward to it!

One of the platformers I really enjoyed here on Steam!
The aesthetic really feels PS1-ish, try to believe (it also has that very specific quirk the PS1 has on polygons, and you can also change it in one of the many settings),

Each level is unique in terms of concept, and each one is structured in many different sections
(First level is in the classic path in the woods with wild boars, while the second is a hotel full of cockroaches where you have to navigate in the corridors full of motel rooms, and then jump from a balcony to another).
I really love the feeling you complete the level wondering what's coming next. There is so much you want to try out

I still haven't completed the game, but judging by the trailer there are many unique concepts for each level.

As for the gameplay I really liked the level design, even if many didn't like it. The controls are fluid.

While the game heavily resembles Crash Bandicoot (it took many aspects of it's good platforming formulas), it also reminds me of Donuld Duck Quack Attack (or going quackers). Specifically the N64/PC version. Which is the one I played as a little kid.
And here is when it enters the nostalgia. I would have gone crazy as a kid for a game like this, and this feeling is what is making me liking this game an adult. My eyes are sparkling with joy every minute I play this.

Overall, this is a game full of love and passion! I really wish the author the best, and to overcome the heath issues!
If a sequel will ever be released, I will buy day 1! Even if it's on Early Access

The game looks REALLY PROMISING!! But it needs some improvements
I'm writing this review the day after the release

Premise:
As a fan of all the other Vocaloid/Virtual Singer/Vocal Synth rhythm games I had to try this (the base game is cheap anyway so it was worth a shot). Aside Project Diva MM+ there are no Rhythm Games like these yet, and I'm glad that slowly we are getting more games of this kind. Right now the game really gives me minimalistic vibes like IA/VT for PSVita, and I'm really liking it so far

First positive Impressions:
-I love the fact that the whole game is around these 5 Cevio stars
-I really appreciate the tracklist which already have tons of popular Producers and Songs inside the Virtual Singer/Vocaloid community.
-The MVs behind the game are in a great quality, It's fun to watch them while playing.

Now onto the bad side:
-The gameplay feels junky, note movements isn't consistent, aswell as input recognition might be too tight or just has a bit of a random delay each time you press the key (It's noticeable also because the hit sound isn't played immediately as the key is pressed). But I'm positive they will fix all these overtime, as the game just got released
-Gameplay wise it may take a bit to get used to, since 5/7 lanes are also in very easy songs/difficulties
It's a bit of a weird choice since 7K is not intuitive for beginners
-The whole UI isn't fluid at all, animations are choppy and static. There could be a lot of improvement

DLC and future support:
-I'm really glad that the whole game is getting support overtime, the whole roadmap for 2024 season is already planned.
I'm happy to buy the 2024 pass next month and supporting the game to develope further

What I hope for the future:
-Something I personally wish for is the continuation of support over the upcoming years with more Songs and DLCs
-More UI/Skins during Gameplay
-QoL features aswell as bug fixes and optimization.

And that's pretty much it for now! Hope to be surprised in the future by this game

I really appreciate the ammount of love and dedication the devs and the whole EZ2ON team are putting in these legacy DLCs.

They remaster everything, from music to BGAs. Everything feels more fresh. They even add BGAs to songs who originally didn't have one (based on the original Illustrations).

Go go go! Now we can wait for Night Traveler or the next New Songs DLCs

MASTERPIECE
It's been a while since I liked a DLC this much

After being slightly disappointed by V Extension 5, this DLC caught me off guard!

What I really appreciated this time is that despite we got all composers from previous extensions, it feels like they all tried to do something new and different from their previous works.

This also applies to the NEW BGAs (the opposte of V extension 5 ones which felt quite the same copies of previous works). This time old visualizers tried to make something new, and new visual artists hired from Rocky Studio are really unique and great (I'm happly going to follow them on Twitter).

So overall: the whole DLC feels like a breath of fresh air of what I was afraid of being something already seen in the past.

The vibe, like the devs said, quite reminds V Extension 2, with different genres but mostly aiming to pop and vocal tracks (while still having some hardcore rhythm game stuff)

One of the BEST DLC yet (along with Prestige Pass)

Really recommended to people who like modern Hardcore tracks in rhythm games

-The songs are on point
-BGAs are some of the best in the game yet
-The skin(s) is clean and well crafted. It's also one of the best

Looking forward to Pack 2 of this series
