Wow a complete and polished game with no garbo attached and I get to piledriver big robots? Nice.

edit: I NEED an xpac now, craving more.

Huge disappointment in terms of the narrative, especially after riding off the positive high that Witch Queen provided. Came out with more questions than answers. The new zone is pretty but lifeless, makes me not really care about 'defending' it. Upon closer inspection you see the rather bland designs start to stick out, I've seen most compare to a quickly built Halo Forge map. The main NPC for the new destination is extremely unlikable and spews ear grating dialogue and really kills the tone during certain sequences.

The new subclass Strand stands out as pretty unique but the campaign spends too much time 'giving and taking' on it. Unsure of its place in the game as of the moment but looks to be a viable alternate super with the right aspects/fragments to come. Hopefully not a gimmick.

There's a lot of good gameplay changes with the addition of loadouts and a rework to armor mods, I'm not too keen on the changes to the latter as they might've 'oversimplified' it for newer players to build craft and try new playstyles out, however I worry the depth has been lost a bit with these changes.

New gear is subjective but looks well made, the weapons are just reskins unfortunately.

Overall I really do not recommend this XPAC one bit considering the rather sloppy story given and poor content for £39,99 alone is yike, let alone the full edition which is £79.99. Unhinged. The gameplay changes just could've been a patch alone.

I am now wary of future releases if this is now the norm for Bungie.

Extremely refreshing take on a rhythmic hack n slash. Rare sight of a game released as a full product made with passion.

I've never really engaged with the souls franchise asides from watching videos discussing the stories and worlds each game is in, until Elden Ring came out. The combat is varied, with lots of potential builds and weapon move sets, in addition a whole set of magic spells and incantations for offensive or even utility and support. The enemies I'd say are fair in their difficulty (There is the occasional gigachad who will stomp you, but thats the fun in it when you kick their ass) Learning the way an enemy lunges at you and observing their movesets, you start to gain a rhythm when fighting and feel you've really progressed in a mental sense, not just material with your newly acquired gear or level.

I've beaten the game four times now and I'm still discovering new things with each run I do. The coop play is not superb however there are current mods in active develop that streamline this, so defo look out for them if you're wanting to ascend the Lands Between with your buddies.

Overall one of my favourite games of the year and deserved GOTY, I look forward to fromsofts next release with AC6.
