Great game

Simple to understand - though it helps if you watch or are a fan of motorsport - yet also so much depth. It's good to hear they are still updating the game too.

Good if you've never played fm before, not worth it if you've owned pretty much any of the last 3-4 fm games. SI talk about how they are proactive with fm games, but they really aren't. Ever since FIFA Manager was stopped FM has been the same game every year. As a typical FM player, I'll play the game loads and buy FM 18 anyway and that will probably contribute to SI's complacency.

Ok, I'm not sure if SI or SEGA go through these at all, but I'm going to write this anyway. By the way, before I start, most of my hours are AFK, maybe about 100 actual hours.

I'm a massive management/simulation fan, and Football Manager is clearly the best sports management game in the world, perhaps (I hope) to be rivalled by Motorsport Manager coming out later this year. If you are looking at these reviews to see if you should buy the game, at this stage of the season, you might as well wait until FM 17 (Football Manager 2017) coming out around December (at least it did last year), unless you can't wait until then. I'm not going to talk about why you should buy the game though, instead I'm going to talk about what I'd like to see added into the game next year. I might make this game seem far from perfection with the amount of suggestions I make, but it is a lot closer than this might make it seem. This could be quite long...

The main thing I'd like to see in FM 17 is an upgrade to the friendly system. All the best teams in the world play Marquee friendlies in Non-footballing nations, but I must admit I'm quite surprised this isn't a feature already, the FIFA franchise actually beat FM to this one. When managing the top clubs in the world, invitations to International friendly tournaments should be recieved 6 months to 2 years in advance. This would add to FM's already fairly in depth friendly system that allows for friendly Tournaments (only in the home clubs nation) and leagues.

The second update I'd like to see added would allow players with the appropriate mental attributes/personality types to be more likely to move to clubs with less reputation that offer more money. Right now, it's very difficult for rich clubs to sign players they can easily afford because their reputation is too low. More and more players are moving to China etc. simply because of money. Hulk could be an example of that, however players like Messi are a good example of players that would play for clubs because of reputation and whether they are one of their favourite clubs.

Next I'd like to see another update to the 3D match engine. I feel that this isn't crucial because most people only use it for replays, but some still do use it for watching the match. This could change if it was more detailed and didn't hurt your eyes to watch (just kidding). Steady progress has been made in the match engine and if it continues, it will become a tool that more and more people start to use. This could really develop the game to appeal to the people that aren't simulation game fans that claim the game is 'just dots moving around on the screen.'

Maybe I'm being a bit optimistic for this one. I can't imagine how long this would take to code etc., but how cool would it be if clubs actually went bankrupt and new clubs moved up the divisions/were created to fill in the gap they leave. Maybe even if the game was scripted to add new clubs into specific leagues every _ years for the next _ years so that leagues like MLS and the A-League that have a high chance of new clubs being incorperated. I don't expect this one to happen, but it would be cool to see. Qatar always got stripped of the 2022 World Cup eventually in my saves, so this kind of scripting could be a possibility.

I feel like there's so much more that I could ramble on about, but I can't think of anything that I'd really like to be added into the game right now. I highly doubt any of these features will be added, barring the international friendly tournaments, but I suppose we'll see.
