for its price point, it's certainly not worth it. you get a couple of good features, maybe, but they're things that really shouldn't be locked behind such a paywall. it's not a good trade. just keep using the standard version, I'd only really recommend this if it ever went down in price - either permanently or in a sale; but sales are seemingly not common with this. its highest discount was 30%, and even *then* it wouldn't have been worth it. **I will forever defend FireAlpaca itself as a great program, BUT** unfortunately this is one of those things that should've been left as an idea :7

unironically really well thought out. there's variation in gameplay, the enemies actually change throughout the levels, and it downright becomes a psychological horror at one point. very gemmy, no joke this might be my gateway into actually playing bullet hells

pretty enjoyable but ultimately WILL give you whiplash from how old it is. nevertheless worth it if this sort of game is up your alley. you'd manage

pretty incredible how it holds up to this day, but ultimately outdated in the sense that L4D2 is the better option when it comes to knowing what L4D game to buy. it's got the same maps with a couple of touch ups, and it offers far more than what's given to you here. more weapons, more special infected, etc.

that out of the way, this is a great game, setting up the foundations for a sequel that somehow did better in just a year's time. the aesthetics and gameplay are top notch and teamwork actually yields results. even if you pick this up while you already have L4D2, this literally can't disappoint you either

one of the more intriguing games in my library, psychopomp stays in a corner of my mind even though I've barely even touched it. (I got scared at the first enemy I saw)
now that a paid release is out, there's no better time to give them a shot
it's got unique controls and an incredibly interesting way of storytelling which left a sizeable impression on me
more people need to know about this game! it's criminal how little I hear about it

def had my eye on this game for a long time, and it doesn't disappoint. full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ shock humor from the 2000's that still gets a few genuine kicks out of me out of the pure absurdity of it
pick this up whenever it's on sale, I got it for less than a dollar

goated, I imagine it'd be far better with friends. def pick this up and mess around with the vanilla experience, and then start adding however many mods you want. the workshop is INCREDIBLY varied for practically anything, even niche QOL improvements

GSC game world, I love you - I swear by you, even - but for the love of God nothing can make me love this game. I am so sorry. revoke my zone license, call me a ♥♥♥♥♥, but making Scar hemophilic is an incredibly funny but ultimately deal-breaking choice. god knows I don't want to spend hours dragging my stupid ass around for 1 bandage only to get shot 30 seconds later. story's fine though, I like how it sets things up for SOC
