Simple, strategic perfection. Perks and handicaps let you set the perfect difficulty while the smooth, intuitive gameplay makes each level a joy.

Probably closest to kingdom rush in terms of pure "tower defense". But, the simple economy, convenient controls, interesting unlocks, turn-esque day/night cycle, and the king's (your) personal involvement in battle elevate this into a truly unique gem.

If it looks interesting you should buy it.

Like Hades 1 but even more stuff to do, feels less grindy with new and consistent ways to get crafting/gifting resources. It seems like there is more variety in potential builds. Bonus points for salting the gooners.

Arrowhead made one of the funnest games this decade and the balance team is finally figuring out how to keep it that way.

Reaching my first ending left me excited to play more, and the additional new game+ content provides. Combat is amazingly smooth and fast while still being comprehensive. An easy 9/10 or better.

Having sunk an additional 20 hours into the demo on top of what I currently have, I think it's pretty fair to say I enjoy this game.

I am particularly fond of the butt clenching early game and the moderate learning curve that comes with it. On regular difficulty you will die quite often but not enough to halt your gradual accumulation of good gear. Learning how to navigate the somewhat random maps and where to best find particular materials is helpful. Exploring new maps for the first time is (rightfully) terrifying.

The gameplay is very tactical, methodical even. You'll spend a lot of time peering into the distance in order to secure your safety and prepare for the fast, lethal firefights. Range is your friend, but close quarters is often necessary to reach new objectives or better loot.

This is the sort of game where a sufficiently skilled and knowledgeable player could rush end game gear. So, while there is a slow and useful skill grind, you aren't locked out of using anything you find.

The story exists. I haven't really followed it because I just like fighting for gear. The game is also updated fairly regularly, the devs listen to feedback, and there is a very pleasant discord community. I don't know what else you could want from a small indy game, so if whatever you've already seen interests you, get this game.
