According to Eurogamer ( https://www.eurogamer.net/monster-hunter-wilds-popularity-due-to-emphasis-on-story-says-series-producer ) , Capcom believes that the story was a major contributor to Wilds' success. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you've been led to believe that this game has a good story: It does not. The pacing in particular is abhorrent: One hunt, 10 minutes of walk 'n' talk, another hunt, rinse and repeat until and beyond the credits roll. Only 20 or 30 hours into the game do you actually get to enter the regular Monster Hunter gameplay loop.
