Even if you don't enjoy the backtracking of metroidvania games, you can still find a good Star Wars story and game. And if you're not into souls-like difficulty, just change to story mode and you'll still have fun. I know I did.

As someone who doesn't like rogue games in principle, because I don't like the idea of losing progress when my character dies, I recommend this game. Even when you die, you have a sense of progress, whether it be on the story, whether it be on the mirror (permanent buffs). If you enjoyed Bastion, and whether or not you like rogue games, I recommend you give this one a try.
