Bad optimization aside, the story is absolutely atrocious and what's even worse, after the story is done there is pretty much nothing to do at this point. Monster Hunter Worlds had a better story and there was actually stuff to do once it was completed.

The only thing this game does better than Worlds is the design and manners of the Handler, that is literally it. The game looks great but not great enough to run like dogwater.

At it's current state, don't waste your time on it. It pales in comparison to the original Grand Fantasia, this version has a level cap on 40, spams you with microtransactions, is littered with UI bugs, has many bugged quests and doesn't even have the same content the previous version had. Not to mention the dungeon systems have been reworked for the worse (for example, you need to solo Prairie Cave to get the rewards, REP quests have been removed.)

This new version feels like a cash grab from X-Legend and does the original game a massive disservice.

Terrible servers, you'll constantly be seeing "ghost" hits where the ball just won't move even though you or your opponent clearly touches it. You'll often have packetloss or high ping regardless of how good your connection is. Instead of addressing the server issues they release cosmetics no one asks for.

I can't bring myself to give this a positive review yet, the game is very empty and lacking in content. The AI is very unbalanced in a way that you won't even be able to fight him before spending 10 hours into a save. There is very little strategy nor are there only 4 units you can use (not counting your retinue or mercenaries). If this game was 15 bucks or 20 bucks that price would fit. But 40 bucks for such a mediocre experience is uncalled for. I know it's developed by a single person but that doesn't excuse it from criticism.

FOR DEMOCRACY

In my opinion this game is aggressively average. The combat system is good and the pawn system is cool but other than that, this game does nothing special. The world is amazing to look at and the graphics are great too but it's so poorly optimized that I struggle to have 60 FPS in the capitals despite having a 4070RTX and an AMD 7 7700. Other than that, the gameplay isn't very fun, all quests are extremely similair (go to X, kill X, done) and feel soulless, it doesn't feel like a game to me but more like a chore. I liked Dragon's Dogma 1 enough to buy this one as well but if you are hoping for a better version of DD1, I would refrain from it seeing as a standard edition of 70 bucks is outrageous.

Best free to play game out there, the only game I actually enjoy the grind in.

The fact that a single developer has made such an enjoyable game speaks volumes, especially in these days that we are fed unfinished trash by AAA dev teams.
