It's a better dating sim than Hunie Pop

I recommend this on sale... While it's a good game it's a bit short. Took me about 7 hours to get through collecting most of the intel and exploring a bit on my own. I really enjoyed the game a lot and I really enjoy the works it takes inspiration from but there are a few issues with it. The game is completely linear. It provides the illusion of choice and that what you do has consequences but unfortunately you aren't actually given any choices (Spoiler: except the ending... kind of). I don't have a problem with linear games really but when they turn out as short as this it's frustrating. I can see what the devs were aiming to do, taking inspiration from Heart of Darkness and more directly in my opinion the film Apocalpyse Now, they didn't want players to cookie cut their way through the game to try to get a certain playthrough and wanted an immersive experience to show the true horrors of actual combat and the effect on the human psyche. The problem with most games that make you take moral choices, for example DIshonored, is that the effects of what you do is shoved in your face immediately and if it's not the result you wanted you'll reload and try to fix it. The nice thing about Spec Ops is that you are forced to live with your illusionary choices and there isn't really a white or black path. Everything is gray area.

In Short: I enjoyed this game. It made me think about the impact of war on the human psyche and I really recommend it if you're a fan of classic war films it takes inspiration from (Apocalpyse Now, Platoon, FMJ, etc). Just don't expect much replability.

Dark Souls III is a good game. Should have kept it a good game and not tarnished the name by releasing 2 hours of content at a quarter of the base game's price. Don't buy the season pass and don't pre order the next DLC and don't buy this one unless it is definitely on sale. You will not get your money's worth. This should be a lesson to everyone that preordering (especially preordering unannounced DLC), is just a great way to screw yourself over.

Buy it, get the soundtrack too, make sure you have a controller though.

Just give the modding community some time. Most of you received it for free anyway so stop complaining.
