I have about 40 hours between Steam and my switch and I love the game but I also hate the game. Racing is fun! Tracks are great! (mostly, I hate 2 of them lol)

I will say the game looks and plays better on PC or the steamdeck(plays beautifully on the steamdeck) than on the switch. Only have more hours on the switch because I often use my deck as a mini-pc.

Having to level your racers becomes a chore the longer a season goes on, until you reach a point where you're stuck but you can't do certain races (this is an issue trying to max out the season track) because they either require a character you don't have, or have but not at the right level. If you're lucky and you have the character, its a character you like to race with, if you're not lucky its a character you're bad at. A lot of the time not being able to do that race locks out another 3 or 4 races and all the rewards for those races.

I'd honestly be a lot happier if I wasn't forced to race with characters besides the ones I want to race with.

Also the store refreshes arbitrarily, both the cash store and the season coin store. More than once I see an item I want or need (like stars to rank elsa up or a rare level up ingredient), but I need more season coins, so I do a race and come back and the items have changed, despite still having well over two hours left before I went to race. I'd even considered one of the rank up bundles that would have given me a rank or so for elsa. It said 30 days left, when I went to look a few days later it had changed to have 15 less stars (5 instead of 20) for almost the same price as the 20 star bundle.

They pretty much lost any chance of me willing to give them money after that. I have bad luck with the free boxes, too. This game is very predatory, like much more than I thought it would be.

I was only here for Frozen anyway so I'm bouncing after this season and may return to check it out depending on who they add later, but I can't recommend it; it starts out great then gradually turns aggravating and if you're at ALL susceptible to FOMO and loot boxes stay away.

This is going to sound like hyperbole but this game single handedly saved the FPS genre on PC, specifically multiplayer FPS.

Typically, most multiplayer FPS games tend to lose their population quickly. CoD franchise always burned me on this. Unless it was Counter-Strike, TF2 or (sometimes) Battlefield, good luck finding a game a month or later after launch, especially when you play late night/early morning US like me. I'm not entirely sure that's changed much, though.

I followed OW from the day it was announced. I listened to them talk about it, fell in love with their passion as they talked about the 'ballet of violence' between Tracer and Widowmaker or how Quake III and Unreal Tournament influenced them or how they looked to all those classic FPS games for inspiration for both heroes and how the game should play.

Even when the rest of the Blizzard dev teams sounded like they'd lost their passion, OW didn't.

The game launched, it was everything I'd hoped for, gameplay wise.

Movement felt great, guns felt great, heroes synergized well. That Quake and UT DNA is there and present.

Through all the game's ups and downs, that part never changed. It was always fun to play, except for when it gets frustrating.

And it can get frustrating. Being matched with people well beyond your skill level. A player base that at times seems to despise the game and everything about it and yet perplexedly keeps playing. Switching to 5v5 which I go back and forth on in how I feel, and the disappointment over their lack of candor on PVE.

And an annoying focus on competitive e-sports over the amazing promise of the world setting, characters and lore. It was those things, this promise of hope in the face of adversity, of heroes and villains larger than life, this message of positivity in a sea of dark and gritty stories. That's why I fell in love with this universe. That's why I've written tens of thousands of words of fanfic. I even got interviewed about the fandom and being involved in it.

So it's always been a disappointment that they've failed to really capture that.

But over the past year I feel like they've been doing a lot more to build on the lore, they've done a great job of keeping the game fresh, and some of that promise and potential might finally be realized.

I feel like this game is an 8/10 that could be an 11 if they just let themselves play in the sandbox they've made.

I don't really get the hype, and I haven't gotten far enough to see what makes this an 'MMO'. It's not a traditional one in the sense of a third person camera with easy mouse control of the camera and WASD movement, at least, which is an immediate negative for me.

Honestly, it feels like Diablo 3 and Tera Online had a baby, and Diablo III on PC was never all that fun to me(I generally don't enjoy top down isometric style ARPGS to begin with and the click to move thing is ew, but really liked D3 on Switch), and if I wanted to play sexy ladies I have some lovely castanics in Tera with a LOT more entertaining combat system, or my characters in FF14 or WoW or ... well you get the idea. Not feeling any attachment to these characters because of how detached the camera angle is.

I'll try to give this one more of a shot, but TBH I had way more fun in the chargen than the tutorial.

Until Endwalker(which I don't play on Steam), FF6 was my favorite Final Fantasy. It has it all, mature themes, existential dread, memorable characters and lines. My first FF, in fact.

Except for the original release, SNES Classic and ROMs, I haven't had much success enjoying replays. The previous version available was.. a terrible disappointment.

Already I find this pixel remaster to be well done, and the music alone was worth the price of purchase, and I look forward to spending more time in the Worlds of Balance and Ruin once again.

The only two ways this could be better would be an FF7R style remake or an FF3/4 style 3d version!

Hard to describe this one. It was deeply touching and emotional, and I liked going through each timeline and seeing what happens. I'm an emotional person, and this certainly made me emotional.

I'm not actually super into building and survival games as a rule, most of the ones I've tried I haven't enjoyed, except for Conan Exiles.

And I can say I enjoy this one a lot more than Conan. It can be both calming and terrifying at points, the building options are pretty robust but not impossible to figure out. There is SAILING which is an automatic +100 points for me.

The world is stunningly beautiful with fantastic lighting, and everything is so stylizes. I wasn't sure I'd like the character models but they fit so well that I'm not at all bothered by them.

It's pretty hard, even as I got better gear, but in a way that's only frustrating some of the time.

It was super easy to set up a little dedicated server on an old laptop for my wife and I to play together (and for her to be able to log in while I'm working) and we haven't had this much fun in a little world together in a long time.

EDIT: I now have a lot more time on Steam, and have certainly passed my Origin playtime, and I still love this game. The new characters and maps added are a shot of life, and the events (including limited time game modes) tend to be interesting and fun. They are currently testing a Control style game mode that may end up permanent, and I hope it does.

The story and character development continues to evolve and they experiment with different ways of telling the story. I'm also a fan of Overwatch but Apex quite simply handles characters and lore 100x better and with way more respect.

I have, as of this writing, 681 hours in this game on Origin. I started playing with the launch of Season 5, and this is my first BR game. Typically I play games such as Overwatch and Battlefield, but I quickly fell in love with the movement, gunplay and the personality of the characters.

This last thing is important. Like Overwatch, each character has a unique skill set, an ultimate and a personality. The Legends all interact with each other through dialogue, which adds something to the game that's hard to quantify. It makes it feel more lively, at least and it's really easy to get attached to the characters. In the seasons I've played there is even a story told that you unlock by collecting treasure packs while playing and Respawn does a pretty nice job of releasing content outside of the game in the form of lore and videos.

There are two maps so far, and Respawn tends to shake them up every season, such as destroying whole POIs and replacing them with something else. If a drop zone is popular, it may very well explode one season.

Both maps are very much larger than what I'm used to, even the smaller map is much larger than BF franchise maps I've played on (even some of the older games massive maps).

Besides the unique characters it's the movement that sets this game apart from others. Sliding and riding ziplines, parkouring across the map, the game sets a fast pace, but not too fast. With shields you can usually survive a surprise attack long enough to mount a defense, which is something that can't be said for a lot of other games.

The other thing I like is the frequency of special events and limited time modes. The halloween one turned you into an undead monstrosity if you died and you had infinite respawns until your living team members die. You could also wall walk in that form. It was really creepy but also really fun.

I've just really enjoyed it!

This isn't really an MMORPG in the classic sense, and it wasn't what I was looking for at all in a Marvel MMO. But if you're looking for a game with a lot of cool looking characters that's basically Diablo with a Marvel skin, this is the game for you. It's fun and the characters are fairly well made. If you're not a fan of Diablo style dungeon crawlers, you'll want to skip it, no matter how much you love the characters. It's purely an issue of if you like this style of gameplay or not. I personally can't recommend it, but I suggest you try it for yourself.

I'm not that big on CoD, I was always a Battlefield person and I haven't played a CoD game in about ten years, but this one is so far pretty fun. The campaign is really awesome and the multiplayer is fast paced and a blast, but I don't yet feel like I'm hopelessly outclassed or unable to contribute. I definitely recommend it. I haven't noticed any bugs or major issues to detract from my enjoyment.
