140 is a platformer puzzle at a glance, but when you invest more time in it, it so much more!
I've played a lot of rhythm based games, and for most (if not all) of them, the rhythm part is a gimmick. It's basically a shooter with enemies popping up at the beat or standard platformers where you don't really need to pay attention to the rhythms to succeed.
In this game understanding of the beat is crucial for success. I for one felt truly thankful for my time as a drummer since it helped me tremendously through the harder parts of the game.
There is so much detail put into the puzzles where you really learn to predict patterns and movements if you listen carefully to the music.

The graphics are simplistic but very functional. It's very clear how you must traverse the obstacles to proceed.

My only gripe as it stands is that it's kinda short.
Also, if the devs decide to work on a sequel, make more songs instead of just the one. Maybe 1st stage = 120 BPM, second 130 and so on.

I honestly did not get this game. It's obvious its primary platform is mobile phones, since you play in an upright aspect ratio. I found it extremely cumbersome trying to navigate with a mouse, and wonder if it's any easier pointing at a screen on a cell phone.
Otherwise a nifty little game with innovative gameplay, great simplistic graphics and catchy music. I just don't have time to wrestle with the controls like I did, thats all. Thought it more frustrating than enjoyable, but I can see why other people would like it.

Life of pixel does a very good job at encapsulating the feel of the different old school systems it emulates.
It's a platformer in the vein of Meat boy and the likes which means it's quite hard and with a lot of retries and new strategies.
It features some old computer systems which made me very happy, since I feel a lot of gaming history focuses mainly on the video game consoles.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed this game, I cant help feeling like it's a missed oppurtunity. Although the graphics are often true to the system it's supposed to look like, the animations are still too fluid and the music for the systems are a generic 8-bit sounding tune. (with exceptions like the C64-stage.)
I would love to have a bit choppier animations on the older systems and sounds more connected to the platform.

It's also a bit buggy. I wanted to check out the control bindings. Did so and accidentally pressed enter to back out. It selected a control to change and waited for input. Instead pressed ESC to back out which was all good and well until I wanted to use the menu again. Had to alt-tab out and force quit the game to end it.

All in all it's a feast for the eyes if you love retro gaming, and I hope the devs get all the love they need to expand this concept into a more faithful adaption of old computer- and video games.

This is an first person adventure that plays with any preconceptions the player has.

Your protagonist is a secret agent called Polyblank that gets sent on various proposterous missions, like extracting an artificial kidney from a cowboy.
The art style is everything here, and if you play this without exploring this weird and curious place, you can probably finish this game in under an hour. But that's not what its there for.
You will feel genuinely rewarded digging up an mammoth in an icecube at the beach or smuggling a carrier pigeon to the next mission.
This game is seriously funny without being insulting to your intelligence and I totally fell in love with its quirky world.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone thats looking for a laugh.
